Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Eleven
Harmony's POV
"Tucker, open the gate," I said as he sat on the porch.
"What," he asked as he came over to the pin where I was riding my horse.
"Open the gate," I said again.
"Why," he asked confused.
"Because, I want to ride her in the open field," I stated.
"No way, not on my watch," Tucker said.
"What," I asked confused.
"I am not letting you ride this horse out of this pin," he said.
I pulled Midnight Moon over to the latch and opened the gate. Tucker stood in the middle where there was no way around him. Midnight Moon was wanting to go and so was I! I wanted to ride like I had never ridden before which would be easy since I have only ridden a horse once or twice.
"Harmony, get off that horse," Tucker said as stern as Bryce, "this is my last warning."
"Tucker," I said mocking him, "get out of the way before we run you over!"
"Do not make me go get Bryce," he threaten.
"Do it, they obviously do not care that I am riding Midnight Moon," I stated.
"Harmony, please don't do this," he said almost begging.
Midnight moon was started to get a little wild. He was wanting to go and get out of this pin. Midnight Moon backed up to the backside of the pin and then took off running towards Tucker.
"Stop," I yelled as he charged at Tucker, "Tucker move!"
Tucker moved in the nick of time as Midnight Moon and I were off into the dark.
"Shh boy, it's alright," I said, "you are okay!"
The horse would not stop at all. He was was running for force and nonstop. I had no clue as of what to do. The horse seemed to know where to go and what trees to avoid. Although my legs and feet were getting cut as he ran through sticker bushes. I wonder where he thinks he is going.
It was not long till Tucker showed up behind me but that just caused Midnight Moon to run faster. We entered a big field with a bonfire and some tents. Great, we are fixing to ruin some peoples' camping experience! Midnight moon ran full force until it got to a certain tent and then stopped pretty ruff. He slung me forward which caused me to go sliding right off of him.
"Many Moons is back," some one said, "and he bought someone with him!"
"What in the world," I said as I looked around.
"You stole my horse," the guy said.
"I beg your pardon," I said, "I have not stolen your horse! This is Midnight Moon, my horse!"
"Where are you from," the guy asked.
"It is none of your business," I said.
I tried to climb back on Midnight Moon but, he was simply too tall to just jump on him.
"Come with me," he said.
"No, I am not going anywhere with you," I stated.
"Harmony, come on," Tucker said as he appeared beside on his horse.
"Harmony Barrow," the man asked.
"Yes," I said a little uncomfortable.
"Welcome back to the reservation," he said, "do you remember me?!"
"No, who are you and where am I," I asked demanding.
I really wanted to know where I was and why my horse brought me here.
"This is the Indian Reservation, and I use to he your childhood friend before your mother took you off to the city," he said.
"My mother was not Indian," I stated, "and I do not know you, nor remember you!"
"Of course not, your father was! And you use to call me Wes," the boy said.
"My father was not Indian and I never called you anything," I said, "Tucker, give me that rope!"
Tucker handed me the rope and I put it around Midnight Moon's neck. I then handed the rope back to Tucker who wrapped it around his saddle. Tucker took my hand and pulled onto the back of his horse.
"Harm, do not take my horse," Wes said.
"Do not every call me that again," I demanded, "and you are not getting his horse back! Lets go Tucker!"
Midnight Moon started having a fit. The rope unwrapped itself from around the saddle and Midnight Moon started going crazy. I jumped off Tucker's horse and grabbed the rope as Midnight Moon went to stand up on his back legs.
"Shh boy, you are okay. No one is going to hurt you," I whispered, "lets go back home!"
"He will not go back home to a pin. He is not use to that," Wes said.
"Here Harmony, let me help you," Tucker said as he helped me onto the back on Midnight Moon.
Wes clicked his tongue and it caused Midnight Moon to go back on his hind legs. I grabbed a hand full his hair and held on tight. I nudged my feet at Midnight Moon's hind legs and he took off really fast.
Midnight Moon was taking the same path as on the way to the weird Indian Reservation. Dragging my legs back through all the sticker bushes Midnight Moon could find. Midnight moon went running full force into the cage. He stopped and turned around once he was in. I slowly got off of him stood in front of him.
"You are one strange horse," I whispered to him, "but, then again I am strange too!"
"Harmony, what is going on," Tucker asked as he appeared up at the house.
"I have no idea and how did that guy know my name," I asked.
"I dunno, maybe Bryce will know something in the morning," he said.
"If Bryce finds out, he will take Midnight Moon away from me," I said.
"Maybe not," Tucker said.
"While you unsaddle your horse, I am going to take a quick shower," I said, "I will be back."
Tucker's POV
What in the world just happened? That was so odd. How did that Indian know Harmony's name; how did he know that, that was his horse? That was turning out go he kind of creepy!
After I put my horse in the barn, I sat in the hack porch and waited for Harmony to return.
"I am back," she said as she closed the screen door.
Her hair was really long and blond. Harmony looked normal. As in she was not wearing too much black except for her jacket.
"It feels so good out here," she said as she sat on the swing with me.
"The only thang that would make this perfect is if I had some sweet tea and lemon," I stated.
"You want some," she asked she started to get up.
"Naw, it is alright," I said, "thank you though!"
"I don't know how y'all do it! Get up at the crack of dawn and stay up to the earlier bourse of the mornings," she said after she yawned.
"It's easy and you get use to it" I said.
I looked over at Harmony who had her head propped up on her arm. She was almost asleep.
"Harmony," I whispered.
"I didn't do it," she said as she jumped.
"Do what," I asked confused as she blushed.
"Sorry, I am just really tired and cold," she said as she yawned.
"Here scoot closer to me," I said.
She did and I put my arm around her. Harmony put her wet hair on my shoulder but I didn't mind at all. We sat on the swing for a little while. I could tell she was asleep but, I did not mind. It was nice to sit with someone for a while. Even if they were asleep.
I carefully picker her up and took her to her bed.
"I can walk," she mumbled, "you can put me down, Tucked."
"It's alright, darlin'," I said, "go back to sleep!"
With that she did not say another word as I laid her on her bed and covered her up. She smelt good, like oranges and something else that I could not put my finger on.
I crept out if the house and to my truck. I saw Harmon's drawing book in the front seat. She said I could look through earlier and I didn't get finish liking at it. So, I picked it up and opened it to see what she was drawing tonight. It was the bonfire party. It was just like tonight. Harmony drew herself sitting on the truck as the three girls with tue mean faces pointed at her. I turned the page to see her draw a tree and some trucks. The closer I looked the more I could see the start of someone sitting under the tree. It almost looked as if the person was crying.
She drew her feelings into this book. Whatever emotions she did not show or did not want to show she drew a picture of it. Harmony mist have been miserable tonight! I hope it got better once we left the bonfire!
