"Getting to know you,
Getting to know all about you.
Getting to like you,
Getting to hope you like me."

-Deborah Kerr as Anna Leonowens in The King and I

Helloes! I'm KaitouSamurai2, or KS2. My name is Aja (Ah-jah). And no, that's not a nickname either. My mom named me after that Steely Dan album, Aja (Ay-jah), but with different pronunciation as you can see. The only nicknames I've ever received in my life so far is A.J., A-J-A (because my friend really couldn't remember how to pronounce my name right), Obi-Wan, and Mufasa (like how the hyenas say it in that scene XD). I was the smart one out the bunch of friends I hung out with in middle school (and now in high school at well). But most of the time, people just call me Aja, the unusual black girl who's smart (nerd), spiritual, and knows how to draw.

I'm 16 now. I like to read, draw (especially),write, and research...about stuff without being tested for a grade (I've had too many of those things last school term). I hold on to the principles I hold on to the most and I want to be a role model for children. Kids need one nowadays. Not saying that all kids don't have one, but I think some look at the wrong places, like television, but it isn't necessarily bad. Just not realistic.

I have interests in films, whether classic or modern, but most of the time I like a lot of classic films like The King and I (1956) and The Ten Commandments (1956). I also take a critical look at them, rather than just saying, "That was a good movie." and go on with my life like most of my associates would. (Oh, so proper, eh?) Don't be fooled, I like to laugh at myself, especially when I make drawings that I consider horrible, and draw things beside it jokingly.

A few of my favorite actors/actresses are Tyler Perry, Anika Noni Rose, Jodi Benson, Julie Andrews (AKA MARY POPPINS :D), Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, and Yul Brynner...who's body could make Taylor Lautner eat his heart out. Even as a corpse (may Yul rest in peace).

I like very few television shows. One channel I like to watch often is TCM (Turner Classic Movies). I like to watch SpongeBob, In Living Color (too hilarious), and The Golden Girls. I miss those 90s-early 00s shows on CN, Nick, and Disney Channel, which I don't watch anymore. I feel like Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas when I ask what atrocity that it is.

I also like animated films (more so traditional than CGI, but there's some CGI films I do like) and live action films with animation in it, like Mary Poppins and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (The best ones!)

I'm also a fan of the Disney Princess films (and Heroines-- Go Esmeralda, Megara, Kida, and Eilonwy, who is a princess) as well as other Disney films. Not to toot my own horn, but I would say I'm one of the biggest fans in my school (at least)...since no one else wants to talk about them a lot. I like Disney in general to the point that a person asked their friends when Walt Disney died and I answered 1966. I got some strange looks. :( At least I talk to Jesus about them. I know He listens. :D

Which leads to another thing about myself.

School has had a profound effect on my life. Although it might not have an effect on some, but on mine, it has.

I have been going to school in the same small town beside the small city I live in from kindergarten to eighth grade. The reason why I went to school out of my area was because my mom had to work early in the morning, and unfortunately, being apart of the many children across America and around the world being raised by one parent, specifically a mother, the only place I could go in the mornings every day as a baby was a daycare in the town beside our city.

Well, you might ask, "Why couldn't you go to daycare in your own city?"

My mother called two centers. One was full, the other didn't call back.

So my mother called a third daycare center in the next town beside us, and they had an opening for me. For the next 13 years of my life until the last day of my eighth grade year, I went to daycare and then school. I made friends with the most kind, funny, and sometimes unusual people who's faces have been carved in my heart since God planned it in the beginning.

But it seems that the district office wanted to crack down on students who were going to schools out of their area illegally. It was a good thing I wasn't them, but whether or not I was doing that I still had to go to the school that I'm going to now...

That I don't like.

But I'm glad at least I have an education that I'm taking advantage of. *snaps in z formation*

I get along with the students there, but it's just not the same, even when I've been there for 2 years now. I'm not close to anyone, and sometimes when I talk to people, they pay attention for one second and then pay attention to their friend with undivided attention who interrupts. I'm not jealous, but a little common courtesy goes a long way.

I like to talk, (like my mom, who's guilty as charged XD) but I also like to listen to others as well (quietness from my dad). Thank you God for the elementary school I went to. It's pretty well known around my school district, so kudos to Prosperity Rikard Elementary School of SC! And Mid-Carolina Middle School for giving me the best school years of my life!

Well, any who...

My dreams.

One day, I want to become an animator. And maybe even run my own studio (for traditional animation).

It's because of this man! *points to Walt Disney's grave, wherever it is*

That man and his brother built a company that's been giving us magic since 1923.

But that wasn't where my inspiration for drawing came along. It was with anime and manga in 5th grade.

Oh-oh. An otaku, eh? Yes, I'm afraid so. But unlike others, I like more obscure anime and manga (mostly old school) like The Rose of Versailles (which is fantastic, I highly recommend it if you like drama, romance, and especially The French Revolution or history as a whole) and Hadashi no Gen/Barefoot Gen, which is a story based on the experiences of Kenji Nakamura, through Gen and his family, who survived the bombing of Hiroshima in World War II.

I used to be crazy about anime/manga, but it's died over the years, but I still like it. I guess that's because most of anime/manga didn't have characters that had real principles or original personalities from others, and felt kind of soulless and provincial. (Belle, are you on my computer again? *Belle gives her best troll face*)

I suppose that's where Disney and Lord of the Rings came over. (Don't worry, I read The Hobbit first! :D)

I always loved Disney films and cartoons when I was growing up, but I suppose it refueled even more when I heard about The Princess and The Frog in 8th grade. I kept my eye on that movie since the day I heard about it.

The following year in 2009 on December 12 (yes, I remembered the exact day I went to see it), my mom, my friend, and I went to see TPatF, and it was AMAZING. I was happy as Louis when I saw the "Friends On the Other Side" scene. The film fulfilled my expectations. At the end, I was like "MOAR PLZ!" I was expecting the credit song to be more like the Renaissance films which were hit songs, but I was like, "It's okay, but it suits the film's romance." Even today, I consider it my favorite Princess film, even over Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, which are more critically acclaimed, but PatF did well with critics and audiences (even though it grossed lower than all the other Princess films from the Renaissance era) Disney decided that they do another traditional movie every two years! Next will be Winnie the Pooh this year! In July...I'm so going to that one.

Well as for Princesses are concerned...

This is a list of the Princesses that are close to my personality, whether I prefer them in this order or not. We all have a little of each one of them, so I'll list them all. Starred Princesses are my favorites.

1.Tiana*- I'm determined, sometimes a stick in the mud (at some popular and overrated things), work hard, especially with the school work I'm given...those honors classes...and I always try not to lose what's important in life.

2.Mulan*- Tomboyish, not entirely concerned with looks, and tends look after others before ourselves--I do that a lot. And sometimes clumsy. My first princess feature I saw in theaters. I still have a Mushu plush toy that speaks lines from the film. I used to play with it all the time when I was little, but it doesn't play anymore. :(

3.Belle*- I can be a dreamer sometimes, bookworm--definitely, even stubborn, but most of all--some people think we're unusual. For me, it's a good kind of unusual since I do it for the lulz. Some just look at me weird because I'm not like them. *sings* WAVE THE FLAG FOR STRA-NGE PEO-PLE, SHOW THEM HOW WE STAND!

4. Ahem. Pocahontas*- The voice of reason, or just wise beyond my years, sometimes feel troubled with decisions. (First Princess movie I owned.)

5.If I could, Giselle* would be here. Instead, there's Cinderella- I'm kind of passive to the point one of my friends from high school said that she couldn't imagine me angry; I feel forced when doing work I'm not interested in; a dreamer.

6.Rapunzel- There's the art abilities and having charisma, but my charisma works for kids, mostly. Hers works for everyone, even when she's never met anyone else in her life other than Gothel and uses her hair expertly like she's been outside of her tower before. I'm definitely not like that because I don't have 70 feet of hair. Even if I did, I know I'd have a hard time using that way. Which is why I say she's a Mary Sue. GO AHEAD, SHOOT ME, TANGLED LOVERS! I WILL STAND TO BY WHAT I SAY! (Tangled felt like it was too much of a modern girl's fulfillment story. Sorry! *shrugs and then gets shot at by an army of Tangled lovers is and bombed*) Don't worry, I'm still here. *troll face* Tangled was alright overall, but not a favorite. If Rapunzel had an original personality, then I'd like the film better. Besides, Rapunzel isn't the only princess who has Mary Sue qualities either.

7.Jasmine- Not much, I like honesty (who doesn't?), and maybe sassiness and anger but if I ever get (full out) angry, it'll be like Maleficent's...if I had magical powers and could turn into a dragon and watch certain people's faces evolve into horror. That would throw my Cinderella passiveness through the window. I now am going to be apart of the Student Government Association at my school as a Cabinet member next year, so I may be a lot like Jasmine to know what matters to the student body more.

8.Snow White- Not much, but I act and dress younger than I look sometimes. I encourage kids to stay kids and not to grow up too soon. There's a thing called bills and taxes! *DUN DUN DUN!* If she were real, I'd love her to be my little sister. As for oldest sister is concerned, as you may have guessed, Tiana.

9.Ariel- Dreamers; exploring. I like to travel to see my mother's family most of the time, since all of them live out of state. Sometimes I overlook myself and find my acts a bit selfish, but I have common sense though. Unlike a half-fish who abandoned her family for a man. *Ariel sticks her tongue at me* Talk to the hand, Ariel. Or more so...*gives her a card* TO MY TAILFIN! *Ariel throws a dinglehopper at me* I still like her, though. She'd be a good, yet foolish friend if she were real (in a good way).

10.Aurora -How should I know? She's only on there for 18 minutes! Besides, we're like opposites. Especially in the beauty department. *Watches Aurora getting Ms. Universe*

The list may change time after time again.

Whether or not I like some more than others, I think if they knew each other, unlike the DP franchise separating them, which stinks to me, they all would be the best of friends to each other and other characters. Even the most different of princesses, like Tiana and Ariel, would definitely complement each other as friends even with their differences.

I'm kind of sad that they're not doing any more princess films. I hope sometime soon they can have a film with a Hispanic princess. It'd make my day.

I enjoy lots of animated films from many companies, but none have really hit me or many people like the Walt Disney films.

This is KaitouSamurai2, and I approve this (super long and overworked) message (that I've been working on for hours).
LOL...Smiley face. (Yes, that film, too.) *^__^*

So, past week, I rewatched all Disney princess movies and I finally gain complete image of every character, movie and song. My lists changed so much that it hurts, especially couples and princes list. I decided to put everything in one article and finish this once and for all (Just kidding, I'll write more). I'll try to be short.

Note: I didn't include sidekicks from every movie, just my favorite general, and unlike other ranking, I love my top ten sidekicks

Place #10

*Movie: -Princess and the Frog it's awful. Every second of it is stupid and makes no sense. Even my little brother questioned...

I watched all the Disney princess movies recently (except one)and I decided that I can relate to a lot of them. So here they are in order. oh yes, I'm not going to add Rapunzel. I've watched Tangled once, But I don't remember it enough to say she is like me.

Snow white:
I don't know what it is that I don't like about her, But I think it's because I can relate to her the Least. I don't Wait for my prince, I'd go after him! And I would've acted MUCH differently than snowy if I were in her position. I wouldn't go into somebody's house, clean it up, let a scary old lady with apples in it, or take...

With so many covers of Let it Go coming out, people may forget the original Disney magic that this song has, so what better way to preserve that magic with other Disney and Pixar characters singing the song!
