I held a poll recently that revealed people liked to read articles that were either countdowns or articles about DP characters who were NOT the princess. To satisfy these requests, I decided to make this (sort of) countdown about the DP Princes titled: DP Princes - Are they decent role-models? (Credit to dimitri who gave me the idea :))

To make this countdown shorter, I have taken a sample of princes to examine (there are two from each era):
Prince/Florian/Ferdinand/Buckethead/Whatever you want to call him - Snow White
One day, my name will come...
One day, my name will come...

Charming - Cinderella
Like. A. Boss.

Adam/Beast - Beauty and the Beast

Shang - Mulan
I'm the hot one!

Naveen - The Princess And The Frog
What the hell am I doing here?

Flynn/Eugene - Tangled
YOLO

I will be placing these in order of who is the best role-model.

(Fun fact about the Prince, not relevant to the article)

5. Adam/Beast

I think it is pretty obvious how Adam landed himself here, but I will briefly explain myself. For the majority of the movie, Beast is an angry, abusive, selfish, kidnapper (the exact OPPOSITE, in my opinion, of how any good man should be). He keeps Belle captive, yells at her and scares her (sometimes to tears). This all kind of disgusts me.
Douche.(Yep, he's a total shower)
Douche.(Yep, he's a total shower)

Yes, he redeems himself towards the end by controlling his temper, and being very loving and caring towards Belle. I will say that he changes the most out of all my chosen princes. However, his antics at the start of the movie make it almost impossible to say he is a good role-model overall, despite the fact, he is may inspire abusive people to change their own behaviour.

4. Naveen

I guess this one might be a little more surprising but let me explain - Naveen is nothing but a player and a gold digger at the start of the film! The thing he most desires seems to be money (as shown by his exchange with the Dr in "Friends on the other side"), and he plays with women's affections without a second thought.
This is literally all he wants....
This is literally all he wants....

In all fairness, like Adam he changes at the end and becomes a hard-working and loyal partner to Tiana, but once again he only really serves as a role-model to the players who seek to change their own behaviour.

3. Flynn/Eugene

Flynn's placement is a bit undecided. I kept debating whether he should go before or after Naveen. There is no getting away from the fact that Flynn is a thief, and he doesn't have as big a need to steal as some might (such as Aladdin) so some might consider him a person who steals simply for their own gain (although this could be debated as he is an orphan and may have to steal to survive). He also seems as greedy as Naveen as his big dream seems to involve a lot of money and a castle.

I'd say Flynn is a slightly better role-model than Naveen though, because Flynn actually plans to do SOMETHING to achieve his goal rather than marry a rich lady for nothing more than her cash. I also don't consider him a true criminal. In my mind, he started thieving to survive. Yes stealing is wrong, but isn't it necessary in some situations? Flynn is also a good role-model because he has determination, creativity, and a softer-side he is willing to show a LOT sooner than some of the other princes (*coughs* Adam and Naveen).

2. Charming and Prince/assorted names (tie)

In all honesty, I think these two really have too bland personalities for me to truly examine if they are good role-models. The problem is we just don't get to see enough of them! My problem with both of them is that they could be seen as teaching boys to have no personality, which I am strongly against, but there is no conclusive proof that they are like this all the time because they DON'T GET ENOUGH SCREEN TIME!
Preaching to the choir!
Preaching to the choir!

However, I really like how both of them seem to all be respectful, charming and polite (qualities that I think both men and women should show at times). I can't really say they have any bad qualities to say that they are bad role-models (although the Prince seems a little creepy at times O.o), but I can't really say they are great role-models either because we simply don't see enough of them!
Who wouldn't want to see more of this amazing emotion?
Who wouldn't want to see more of this amazing emotion?

1. Shang

Shang, like any decent character, has his faults but I think he is the best role-model out of my chosen sample. He shows that boys don't always have to be smooth-talking or witty to get a girl, but that they can be honest and hard-working instead. At times, the way he treats Mulan is a little out of line but he has two reasons for that:
a) He thinks Mulan is a soldier and treats her like a commander should
b) He's in the middle of a War.
Primarily, this guy is a soldier
Primarily, this guy is a soldier

I think he is a great role-model for a military figure, but also a great role-model to show that a man CAN accept a woman being better at him than something (as shown by the battle scene at the end where Mulan is allowed to take control). I hear so much crap about the supposed "fragile male ego" from my parents, which is quite obviously nonsense. Shang shows that a real man doesn't mind if a woman is more talented at something than he is.
I love this guy!
I love this guy!

And now, I will conclude. This countdown has been giving me a headache over the placements, and I'm not entirely satisfied with the final placing but I have tried my best! Please let me know what you think in the comments.

Most people would agree that each of the Disney Princesses are individually unique. While most people take their stories and personalities into consideration, few tend to recognize that they each have an individual artistic style. Even though over the years their lineup has homogenized to create what we might consider Classic Disney, the design of nearly each princess was in fact inspired with a specific artist or art style in mind. I believe this is the je-ne-sais-quoi people have a hard time attributing...

Facts about Cinderella

1.Cinderella is the second Disney Princess, joining the franchise in 1950, after Snow White in 1937.

2.Cinderella is the first Disney Princess to be seen as a little girl, before Tiana in 2009 and Rapunzel in 2010.

3.Cinderella's hair color has often been the subject of debate among fans. In the original film, Cinderella's hair seems to be of a light orange tone, classifying her as either a redhead or a ginger as her hair had been offically called 'burnt orange'. In the franchise and in the Disney parks,

4.Cinderella's hair is publicized as bright yellow, making her a golden-blonde,...

Even though all the princesses are pretty and attractive, one is just abit hotter than the next. So let's get started.

10.Rapunzel
I don't know if it has anything to do with the 3D animation but I just don't find Rapunzel hot. She looks an 11 year old and she's supposed to be 18. And her face isn't all that great either, her eyes are too freaking large.

9.Snow White
I guess we're not to supposed to find Snow White hot. She is only 14 but she looks a little older than that. Probably because she looks so tall compared to the dwarves. She's too cute and baby like to be hot. I like her...

In honor of Valentines Day coming up I'm making a list of my top 14 favorite love songs from animated movies. Starting with my least favorite, number 14, each day I will add a love song I like and on Valentines Day I will reveal my number one favorite love song from an animated movie and this article will be complete :)

14. One Song - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

I really like this song because it's so romantic but it's kinda dull compared to my other favorite in my opinion...But I'm totally in love with the lyrics like
'One heart
Tenderly beating
Ever entreating
Constant and true'

20. Part of Your World (Reprise)
This song is quick, simple, but very sweet. It shows you don't need to have a lot of metaphors and poetic devices to convey what you want. Ariel expresses her desire to become human so clearly and plainly in this song, just by the emotion and longing she conveys, and by just putting it into simple sentences.

While the Princess Party line of DVD's had the goal of accompanying Disney Princess-themed parties, the Princess Stories line has the much more general purpose of serving as everyday entertainment for young girls everywhere. As a result, there's a significant dip in quality from the Party line to the Stories line. We're going to take and look and see just how bad that decline is!

DVD Content
Just like in my last review, I'll go over all of the categories of the DVD one at a time. But first, it's necessary to talk about the presentation. When you first pop in the disk, you're shown a young girl's...

Okay so some of you might have read link. At the time, it seemed to me like there was a group of very intolerant users who would only be offended if I wrote such an article. (Weird, I know, since many people write this article but I still didn't want the tension or drama.) Since I wasn't sure how to write a "physically beautiful" list without offending anyone, I didn't write that article and wrote one that I thought had better ideals: an overall attraction with looks, personality and demeanor combined. That being said, I do love the fairy tale versions of Princesses who were always the "most...

As I mentioned in its first part that this article is for those princesses who got their wedding in original or a sequel. I have re-imagined the gowns for all the princesses as honestly, I don't quite like the ones Disney has shown. The dresses lacks the effort as much as they deserve in my opinion. A princess wedding gown should be thoroughly thought through and designed. Cinderella's and Mulan's are by far the only wedding dress that actually fits their personality the most, in my opinion.

So here's my selection of the re-imagined wedding gowns for the remaining princesses.

Okay so I have read multiple places on here that "Ariel just left her family for some guy she barely knew" and variations thereof. I coincidentally enough just watched this film within the last month and remember it very freshly so I would like to contribute my opinion on this matter. First though, I would like to remind people: These Disney Princess films do not take place in a modern time and setting. Most of them take place over a 100 years ago and are during a time when most people were dead by 40 and half weren't even making it that long. To put it in perspective, the equivalent of a woman...
