Hey, as you know my list has changed A LOT, so I decided to make a new article. I just warn you that this list is temporary and it can change, because, I'm planning to rewatch some movies and because like I have said before, I'm very indecisive, I mean, really my lists change ALL THE TIME! Also, just to avoid misunderstandings, I want to say that when I mention a princess' beauty/ singing voice or any other superficial thing like those, it doesn't mean that I judge based on these traits. I won't put a DP higher because she's beautiful, I just felt that since I'd talk about the princesses, I could say something about their other, not so important characteristics. Anyway, I'll shut up now. Enjoy!

13) Anna

Anna is an adorkable person. She is so bubbly, funny, optimistic and cute. I like her clumsy, awkward moves and her famous line "Wait, what?". She is very amusing for me to watch and I love how at the same time she can be such a sweet person. She deeply cares about her sister, she puts Elsa beyond anything else, even her self and she doesn't hesitate to sacrifice her own life to save her. She is the most selfless princess in my opinion. I also adore her as a kid, she is so funny and cute and I like how she can't understand why her sister shut her out and tries to act like nothing has changed. Moreover, I love how she dreams to find romance, like every teenage girl. No one shows her affection since the time her parents died and when she finally finds love she is so happy and excited that she can't think very clearly.
Then why is she so low? The truth is that I find her quite annoying some times, she just seems too clumsy, I mean, really now, how was she able to throw that little statue, she is a moving disaster. Also, she is the only princess that is kinda stupid. Some of her actions are very reckless, for example why would she throw that snow ball to that giant snowman, it was funny, but also incredibly stupid. I would rant about the fact that she married a man she just met, but I won't, because some of my favorite DPs do the same thing and well, Anna has a very good excuse.
To conclude, Anna is a lovable human-being, but sometimes she is way too clumsy and dump and I don't like that modern feel she has.

12) Merida

Merida is a very special princess. She is a tomboy, wild, free-spirited and adventurous. She doesn't like girly-girls and beautiful dresses, she prefers archery and running free in nature. I like how she is not afraid to speak her mind and to oppose against the unfair law that demands the princesse to marry whether she is ready or not. I don't have any problem with the princesses who find true love, but it was nice to see something different, a princess who is not ready for marriage. I also love her relationship with her mother, how they argue all the time and I have to say that even though Merida did terrible things, she was the only DP who apologized and truly regretted about her actions, she didn't just throw a "sorry". Many people say that she is a damsel in distress and I can say I agree, but it's not the whole truth imo. I have also heard many people complaining about Merida showing off all the time with her excellent skills in archery, but at the end all she did was speak and persuade some people, but I disagree. We already know that she is good at archery and I am personally sure that she could easily defeat Mordu, but we saw her doing what was difficult for her. In addition, I love her relationship with her father and her brothers, their are so funny together!
Then why is she low? Well, it's not that I dislike something about her, but she is not my cup of tea and the first time I saw her, I was neutral about her. She has grown on me since then, but not enough to put her higher.
In conclusion, Merida is a wonderful and special character that brings something new in the line-up, but she is not the type of princess that I usually like.

11) Snow White

Snow White easily wins the title of the cutest animated female. In the first half of the movie, before she meets the dwarfs, she is amazing. I love how she spoke to that little lost bird and how then, after she had run in the woods, she befriends all the animals, and even says "I'm so ashamed of the fuss I've made" while it was not her fault. She had just learned that her stepmother wanted to kill her and after experiencing a shock (someone was holding a KNIFE and was trying to kill her, if that's not a shock, I don't know what it is), she had immediately to run in the scary woods. And she is fourteen. I'm fourteen and I think I would completely lose it in these woods, I'd act worse than Snow White for sure! Anyway, after all that, she SINGS a song and she smiles, she's HAPPY. So I think she deserves a huge bravo for her unbelievable optimism and for being the emotionally strongest princess together with Cinderella. Then, when she enters the cottage, the first thing she thinks is how these poor "kids" won't have a mother to take care of them and she decides to help them with doing all these chores and cooking them a dinner. That shows how selfless she is and also how smart, because she clearly had in mind the possibility that they would kick her out, so she wants to make them to let her stay, she gets a job. Then she is very nice with the dwarfs and also very diplomatic, in order to persuade them. She acts very motherly towards them, she's bossy, but also sweet and caring. And after the dinner she has fun and she sings that beautiful song about how she is CERTAIN that her prince will come, she doesn't even think the possibility of not coming. And the night, I love how she prays for Grumpy to like her, she's so sweet that moment! Another thing I love about Snow White is how she doesn't judge by appearance, she lets the old hug enter the house because she was 'having a heart attack' and she though she needed help. In my opinion, that shows naivety, but also her loving nature, how the evil queen's appearance doesn't influence her at all.
Then why is she so low? Firstly, I just prefer the other princesses. And besides that, I don't really like how she makes the dwarfs wash their hands. She could say "You know, it would be nice if you washed your hands before dinner", but not "If you don't wash your hands, no dinner!" I understand how that makes her seem like she's their mother, but really now, she bosses them around in their own house! She should at least wait a little more time. They're doing her a favour by letting her stay, she should recognise that. Moreover, she's kind of manipulative when she just sings and the animals do all the job for her. If someone saw her making all these poor animals do chores, he would put her to jail for animal cruelty (ok I'm kidding, it wasn't so bad).
To sum up, I believe Snow White is the epitome of optimism and I love how she never gives up, but I feel that sometimes, she can be a little bit too bossy for my tastes.

10) Ariel

I feel so bad that I put Ariel low, but I can't place her any higher. Ariel is a charming, adorable, funny girl. She is curious, adventurous, rebellious and stubborn. I love how much she loves humans and how she's fascinated with the human stuff, she collects them, she admires them and she dreams that one day, she'll be able to live in that world and that all her questions will be answered. She is also very brave. I love how she falls in love with Eric even though she doesn't know him very much, because that's what teenagers do, people shouldn't hate her so much for this reason. I also love her determination and confidence, I highly admire her for that. In addition, when she's on land, she is SO cute and sweet, she can make Eric fall in love with her without saying a word, she truly amazed him with her bubbly and unique personality. Another thing that I love about her, is her realistic relationship with her father and how she feels like no one understands her.
Then why is she low? Well, firstly, I consider her very selfish, even if she doesn't mean to be and impulsive. She gives up everything to go and stay with her man on land. I understand that it's her dream and she had to follow it, but I'd like it if the movie had focused more on her dilemma, should she follow her heart OR stay with her FAMILY? Her decision appears to be too easy, she thinks about her father and sisters only one time, but when Ursula mentions "her man" she suddenly forgets everything. I think that if instead of Ursula, there was another woman, who looked more nice and not so suspicious (and without singing "Poor unfortunate souls, which is an amazing song, but not the best to convince someone that you're good imo), Ariel wouldn't even think of her family or friends. I think that she didn't agree immediately, only because she didn't trust Ursula. And really, WHY should she trust her? I understand that she was really sad and devastated because of her fight with Triton, but this is not a reason to trust a sea witch with two eels who sings "Poor unfortunate souls" and asks her to give her VOICE. She clearly didn't think of the concequences. And at the end, I believe Ariel didn't completely understand what she had done. She had turned her father into...that thing and the only thing she said was "I'm sorry daddy, I didn't know!".Her apology wasn't very believable in my opinion and she didn't really show that she had regretted, probably she has, but, I think that in the end, her main concern was the fact that she wouldn't be able to become human again. What's more, although I think that she is a good friend to Flounder, I don't have the shame opinion about her behavior towards poor Sebastian. She never listens to him, unless it's something that she finds interesting. And I'll mention two other reasons why she's spoiled, but I won't give much importance to them because they are based on the sequel and yeah...it's not very accurate. Firstly, in Ariel's beginning, she fought so passionately about music, yet in the original she FORGETS about the music concert her father made especially for her! This shows that she's truly ungrateful about many important things. Also, since she knows her own mother was killed by human, shouldn't she be a little bit more concerned about them and how dangerous they can be? But as I said, I won't take these two reasons into consideration because well, that sequel is not the most accurate ever existed and...it's mostly the directors' fault and not Ariel's.
In conclusion, I love Ariel's lovable and bright personality and sometimes her flaws are what make her so charming, but generally, I wish I could see that in the end, she had developed and learned something about what's truly important in life and about the consequences that our actions may have.

9) Aurora

Aurora is a very charming character. She's dreamy, romantic, graceful, kind, playful and with a great imagination. She's also very flirty and almost sexy. I can relate to how shy she can be towards strangers and to her sense of duty, she accepts her obligations and tries to satisfy her people and her aunts. Her song I wonder, shows how she likes to approach things with curiosity and how she makes philosophical questions about all the creatures in nature. I love the way she moves, like an angel and her sweet angelic voice. I don't believe she's a character with no personality and she's not at all boring imo, she's just a calm, peaceful character and I have no problem with that.
Then why is she low?
While I don't find her boring, I have to admit she's not the most interesting heroine ever and she doesn't have much depth. Also, the writers didn't really took advantage of her screentime. Jasmine had like 4 minutes more screentime, but we see much more of her personality. With Aurora, we mainly assume things about her. Also, the fact that she accepts her duty as a princess and decides to forget that boy she fell in love with can be considered lack of backbone and not a strong sense of duty, it depends on the way you see it. That's what annoys me about her, I usually imagine how her personality is, the movie doesn't give a lot evidence.
To sum up, Aurora is a very mysterious and charming girl, but she's too much of a stereotypical princess and I prefer more interesting characters.

8) Jasmine

Jasmine definitely brought something new in the line-up. She is sassy, intelligent, independent, stubborn and she won't let anyone tell her what to do or treat her like a prize to be won. At the same time, she's caring, sweet, outgoing and another thing that I love on her is how she's a fast learner. People seem to underestimate that thing she did in the rooftop, it's not at all easy, especially for a girl who is definitely not used in these things. I also love how she wants to marry for love and how she's not afraid to speak her mind. I like how she treats Aladdin when she thinks he's a prince and also how she is able to manipulate him in order to find out the truth. And while it the original movie, she appears as a damsel in distress who needs to be saved (ok I actually don't think that any princess is a damsel, but what I mean is that she doesn't really do much) in the sequels and the TV series, she is such a badass! Moreover, she has a tiger for a pet! What else do you want? And I don't count this as a reason to love her, but she's GORGEOUS! I think she's first in my Prettiest DP list.
Then why is she low? Gabby, please skip that paragraph, I'm too young to die. Anyway, firstly, she is too rude. I mean, the prince just asked her to marry him, it's not like he insulted her or something, she could just say "I'm sorry but I don't want to marry you", she didn't have to put her tiger attack to him, for God's shake! And she doesn't even apologize. I just believe that sometimes, she lives in her own reality, where everybody treats her as a prize to be won and she has to prove that she's tough, but that's NOT true! Also, I expected her to be more badass, she didn't really do much, but I appreciate the fact that she tried and well, I forgive her because of how heroic she becomes in the sequels and the TV series. And again, that's a very superficial reason and I don't take it into consideration, but I can't stand her voice. Her singing voice is wonderful but when she speaks... I don't know, I just find her SO annoying. Finally, I was disappointed from the way she tried to get Jafar's attention. I mean, she could just do something else, for example she could look at somewhere else and yell "Aladdin, you're here!" and then pretend like she shouldn't have said this. Jafar would try to find Aladdin (but he wouldn't look where Aladdin truly was of course) or he would want to make her tell him where he is, or something like that, but she didn't have to KISS him. I love how she was manipulative and she knew how to take advantage of her sexuality, but kissing in the Disney language means sex imo, so... it wastn't very important (and there's also the possibility that she panicked and couldn't think of anything else to do), but again, it was unnecessary.
All in all, Jasmine is a very special girl which combines sass with sweetness, but sometimes she appears very rude and like she wants to seem more tough than she really is.

7) Tiana

The most realistic princess. She doesn't just wish for her dream, she actually does her best to make it happen. And even though she seems so down to earth and serious, I like how at some point of the movie, after she makes sure that no one sees her, she makes a wish on a star for her biggest dream to come true. I love how she has priorities in her life and she doesn't go after a boy, she has better things to do, like for example, START HER OWN BUSINESS. At the beginning she is not at all fond of Naveen and even when he flirts her, she gives him a very sassy look that I love. She's so hardworking, determinate, responsible and still a great, so sweet person. She has an amazing relationship with Charlotte and it's admirable the fact that she isn't jealous of her money and luck, she looks very happy when she sees her best friend dancing with Prince Naveen, while another girl would be extremely jealous of Lottie's perfect life. I don't have a problem with her being a killjoy, since she proves she can be funny and relax when she wants to. And we finally see one princess who acts normal when she sees an animal speaking at her! And I don't really have a problem with how at the end she is willing to give up her dream for a man, I mean, since she loves him so much, but I understand why people disapprove it. Finally, she gets extra points for turning Naveen into a useful person, that was extremely hard if you take into consideration the fact that he felt tired after cutting one slice of a mushroom.
Then why isn't she higher? I don't have a very good reason for this, she's just not my cup of tea and I don't find her as interesting as the others.
In conclusion, Tiana is a very serious and hardworking princess who definitely brings something new in the line-up, but I like the other DPs more.

6) Belle

Belle is such an interesting character! She's a bookworm, she stands out from the crowd and she isn't satisfied with her simple life in her small village. I like how she doesn't seem to change her habitudes even though everybody critises her. I can relate to her very much, because of her love for books and her desire for adventure. We also both want someone who can understand us. Moreover, I love how she's so mature, smart and sarcastic. Her attitude towards Gaston is awesome, she is nice and tries not to be rude but at the same time she doesn't let him do whatever he wants. I generally like how she doesnt take crap from anyone, especially Beast, people seem to forget how brave she was for not being afraid of him, he could easily eat her, rape her e.t.c., but that doesn't seem to influence her very much. And speaking of brave actions, I truly admire her for taking her father's place as the Beast's prisoner, that was a very selfless and brave thing to do. About her action of going to the West Wing, I don't really mind it. It shows that she has a flaw, curiosity and to be honest, I would probably do that too. But... I'll leave that 'but' for the next paragraph where I'll focus on her negative traits.
Then why isn't she higher? To be honest, the fact that she might be a Mary Sue never bothered me. I don't have a problem with Mary Sues for a weird reason, unless they're too annoyingly perfect and Belle isn't imo. But, generally... I'm juts not a huge fan of her. Also, I didn't mention one thing about the West Wing issue. I said that I would probably go there too, out of curiosity and because if a thing is forbidden, I MUST find out what it is. But, I find it kinda stupid that while she was in the Beast's castle for like a few hours, the first thing she wanted to do is go there. I mean, she has a HUGE castle, with so many rooms and things to explore and while she doesn't know the Beast's character, if he's tolerant or evil, she insists to go THERE, to the only room that she is not allowed to go. I would understand it if after a few weeks, she finally decided that she couldn't stand anymore having that question about what exists in the West Wing and since she knew that the Beast wasn't going to kill her if he found out, she would go, but so soon? That's very stupid. But generally the main reason she's not higher is the fact that she's not my cup of tea.
So, all in all, Belle is a very interested, well-written character and I don't even find her snob, but I just prefer the others.

5) Elsa

Anyway, many people dislike Elsa because in the movie they focus to much on her powers and they don't let us see who she really is. I agree on that, but I personally have find many reasons to love her. Firstly, she has ice powers and a powerful, lovely voice! But I don't like her for these reasons. She's very elegant, regal and mysterious. Also, I can relate so much to her because of her flaws. Like Elsa, I feel stressed all the time and when there is a problem, I usually panic and run away from it which of course make things worse. I also can relate to the fact that she tries so hard to be perfect, she concels her feelings till one time where she can't do this anymore. This is certainly a bad thing to do, but after all these optimistic princesses who never lose their hope and do always the right thing (I'm not saying that ALL the DPs are like that of course) I finally found a princess that looks like me. Another thing that I love about Elsa, is the way she cares about her family so much and she doesn't want them to get hurt. I also love how talented she is in architecture, again this is a shallow reason, but she is creating MASTERPIECES with ice, so I can't ignore that. In addition, I like how she showed maturity and didn't give her permission to her sister to marry a man she just met. Finally, I love how during Let it go we see her other side, she looks playful, sexy, fierce, carefree and I can understand how she feels, like she can finally release all her emotions and be herself without people judging her.
Then why isn't she higher? I'd like to write a huge paragraph about the reasons, but almost everyone here knows them, so I won't go into much detail. Elsa, like Aurora, is very mysterious, you can assume things about her, but you're not entirely sure about her true personality. The movie focuses on her struggle with her powers and doesn't permit us to see how she is without having to worry about concealing her secret. And she does some things not very smart, but again, people here have debated about these mistakes and I'm too bored to write them, so I'll just move on.
To conclude, Elsa is a very interesting character in my opinion and I can relate to her a lot, but she's not very developed and she's for sure overrated.

4) Rapunzel

I wish I could put her higher! She's such a wonderful person! Rapunzel is smart, creative, artistic, brave (she can be very courageous, the fact that at the beginning she was afraid of everything is normal since she lived in the tower for her entire life), bubbly, funny and curious. I don't find her very naive, it's normal to trust Gothel, she was supposed to be her MOTHER and I personally wouldn't imagine that my mother took advantage of me and didn't love me, even if she was acting weird some times. The only reason why someone could call her naive is because she trusted Flynn, but again, I think I would do the same, she couldn't just leave this opportunity. Also, I love how Rapunzel is so insecure about herself and how she thinks of her mother after her escape, unlike some others *cough Ariel cough*. And I like how no matter how terrified she is, she will fight her fears. She's a real badass and she's using just a frying pan (Eugene: JUST a frying pan? It's a killer weapon!). Anyway, I love how Rapunzel never gives up dreaming, it's truly admirable how after all these years, she never lost hope. In addition, I can relate to her because of her hobbies, I love drawing, playing music, dancing and generally I'm a person that likes trying new things, like her. Moreover, I like how at the end, she stood up for herself and and spoke her mind to her mother, which may seem easy, but it's not at all. She's just so perfect (not in an annoying way though)! She manages to combine cuteness with intelligence, talent and braveness. I personally don't mind the fact that she's kind of a Mary Sue (and I actually think she has some flaws).
Then why isn't she higher? Well, the only reason is how modern she is. I don't have a big problem with that, but sometimes the fact that she uses expressions we use and that she's generally not as 'classic' as the other princesses (besides Anna) makes me feel kinda confused with her. I don't think that I make sense...
To conclude, I love Rapunzel because she's an inspirational, amusing and well-rounded character whom I admire and look up to, I don't like how she's so modern and anyway I prefer the others.

3) Pocahontas

She and Rapunzel change A LOT, so please have in mind that the next second after I publish this article, I might have her 4th and put Punz in the 3rd place. Damn, I hate my indecisiveness... Anyway, Pocahontas is a great Disney Princess. On the one hand, she's playful, free-spirited, adventurous, risky and curious. On the other hand, she's responsible, mature, wise and knows when to ask for advice and respect the people who know more things than her. That's what I love most about her, she's able to adapt to any situation and deal with the problem. I love her independent nature, she doesn't follow her man and she's smart to understand that her first love isn't stable, that she has to move on and chose the man that truly makes her happy. I don't like the way they ruined John Smith and Pocahontas' romance, but I admire how she's the only Disney heroine that didn't stay with the same guy for her whole life. In addition, I love her relationship with Nakoma. She respects her friend and even when Nakoma says to her that she was the one who told Kocoum to come and that caused all the problems, Pocahontas doesn't say anything, she continues blaming herself, that's really admirable. I also can relate A LOT to her indecisiveness. If I was her, let's say that I would be late a few years to save John Smith, I'd start to go and save him, then I'd change my mind, then I'd start again e.t.c. What's more, I love how Pocahontas appreciates nature and believes that everything around us has a life. She is able even to teach these values to John Smith. Also, I like how she won't take shit from anyone, when John Smith insults her, she gets mad and leaves. Lastly, I like how her people seem to respect her so much, that makes me believe she would make a wonderful leader one day.
Then why isn't she higher? I just happen to love the other princesses more.
To sum up, Pocahontas is a very interesting character (I don't understand how people find her boring), a great role model for girls and I wish more people appreciated her.

2) Mulan

Mulan truly made a big change in the lineup. She doesn't really act like a princess. I can relate so much to Mulan. She's insecure, awkward, clumsy, shy and doesn't want to disappoint anyone. This description shows basically how I am in real life. I love her beautiful song, Reflection, because it describes exactly how I feel. She can't fit in, she feels she has let everyone down and she blames herself for not being what others want her to be, a perfect bride, a perfect daughter. Also, I love how selfless she is, she took her father's place in the WAR, I don't think everyone understands how risky, dangerous and important this decision is. And very very brave. I love how at the beginning she can't adapt to the whole environment, she is hilarious trying to act like a man and failing all the time. But what I admire about her is that she doesn't give up, she takes advantage of her intelligence and without having much strength, she finally gets that arrow that Shang had asked the soldiers to get. And man, she saved China!! Moreover, I love how her goal is not to find a man or to settle down, she is a mature woman with priorities in her life. The love comes later unexpectedly. Don't get me wrong, I don't disapprove the princesses who did that, I just believe it was nice to see something different. What's more, her relationship with her parents is amazing. She loves them so much and she definitely proved that she would do anything for them. I would be proud to have a daughter like her. Because Mulan is an amazing role model for little girls, she truly teaches that it's very important to be yourself.
Then why isn't she higher? I simply like my number one more.
To conclude, Mulan is likable, funny, relatable, smart, bold and a total badass, a truly amazing woman, whom I highly admire and I believe that she deserves all the love that she gets.

1) Cinderella

What can I say about her? She's amazing! To begin with, she's very elegant, graceful, regal and she can pass for a princess even when she's dressed in rags. What's more, she is polite, calm, patient (VERY patient), hard-working, determinate and intelligent. She's also dreamy, caring, sweet and friendly. But while she's so kind, she has limits, she can still speak her mind, and she even uses a bit of sarcasm. The fact that she doesn't run away even when her step-family abuses or that she doesn't get angry in front of them, like for example, Jasmine would do, never bothered me, because, I find it very logical. She needed a shelter and she believed that she wouldn't survive if she got kicked out of her house. She's also very brave. Even when her fairy godmother gave her a chance to go at the ball, Cinderella still should take a huge risk. If her family found out she run away, they would probably kick her out or abuse her even more. It wasn't an easy decision to take. Now, many people complain about the fact that she didn't do anything to get her happy ending. Well, I'm sorry but she worked her butt off! She worked even harder than Tiana imo and at the same time she raised all the animals, she saved the mice many times from Lucifer and that's why they helped her. So, of course she deserved her happy ending! Honestly, Cinderella was the only princess that made me SO happy when I finally saw her being happy at the end of the movie. I almost cried. Another thing that I love about Cindy is the fact that she never stopped believing, she had faith even at the times where everybody else would give up, because seriously, her life sucked. But she remained an optimist and even though I can relate to her always positive energy, I admire her. And lastly, I'll speak a little about the 3rd movie, because I know that the sequels aren't considered canon by the most people, but I take them into consideration sometimes. Well, in the sequel, Cinderella had to be the one who would bring her happy ending, so all the people who complaint about that in the original now can't say anything. She appeared very courageous, capable and smart. And I loved how she defended Anastasia, being able to forgive people who truly feel sorry about their actions is an admirable trait in a person.
In conclusion, Cinderella is more than a fictional character to me. She's an inspiration and I can definitely see why Walt Disney himself loved her so much.

Aaaand I'm done. I hope you liked my article and even if you disagree, please be polite. :)
