Afew days later, Mulan finally managed to mail the letters to Pocahontas and Merida. She had been busy with Ping and making sure Shang was treated right when he got home from his duties. "You don't have to do this!" Shang politely said as Mulan gave him a massage. "As a loving wife, I want you to feel relaxed when you come home." Mulan replied lovingly. "Did you mail those letters?" Shang asked. "I did." Mulan answered. "You have to promise me you'll be patient with Merida!" she pleaded. "Mulan, I don't even like the girl!" Shang said.

"I'm asking you to give her a chance!" Mulan replied. Shang took a deep breath. "I don't want to talk about this right now." he stated. "Why not?" Mulan asked sarcastically. "Because you bring up Merida every single time!" Shang snarled angrily. "Shang, if you'd open your eyes and see what she's really made of, you-" "I don't want you trying to convince me otherwise, Mulan! In fact, I wish you guys never even met!" Shang cut off Mulan as he vented. Mulan ran out of the room crying.

Shang realized what he had done and ran after her. "Leave me alone, Shang!" Mulan cried as he entered the room. "Mulan, I didn't mean to upset you." Shang said softly. "Then why did you just attack my friendship with Merida?" Mulan asked. "I guess I just lost control of myself..." Shang answered speechless. Mulan slowly walked up to him. "I know how serious you are, but just promise me you'll give Merida a chance." Mulan weeped. Shang came to reality, put his frustration behind him, and took her in his arms. "I promise." he whispered.

Mulan cried for a minute or two. "Shhhh." Shang soothed. Mulan took a deep breath. "I'm sorry! I know you don't like it when I'm upset!" Mulan apologized trying to straighten up. "It's OK. You're OK." Shang comforted. He kissed Mulan tenderly on her head. She tightened her hug as he continued to comfort her.

Pocahontas was going into the hut with mail when she saw John fast asleep. She smiled as he lied there on the bed looking blissful. Being as quiet as she could, she slowly walked over by him and sat down. He woke up as she gently ran her hand through his blonde locks. "Wingapo, sleepyhead!" Pocahontas greeted. "I shouldn't have dozed off like that!" John said. "John, you couldn't help yourself." Pocahontas replied happily. "Easy for you to say." John joked. Pocahontas laughed.

John saw a letter in her hands. "What's that?" he asked. "I'm about to find out." Pocahontas answered. She opened the letter. "It's from Mulan!" she said excitedly. "Let's see what it says then." John replied. He took Pocahontas in his arms lovingly as she began to read.

The letter said:
"Dear Pocahontas, I hope you're doing well. Ping keeps getting bigger and brighter every day! I've invited you and Merida to come to China and see me, Ping, and Shang. If you can't come, I understand. Incidentally, I'm so happy for you and John! I can't wait for Ping to become friends with your baby! I hope this reaches you, and I can't wait to see you!

Mulan."

Pocahontas really wanted to see her friends again, but didn't want to leave her people. "I can't leave my people." she said. "It's just for afew days or so." John reassured. Pocahontas made a quick decision. "Okay, let's go!" she exclaimed. She and John smiled ear-to-ear then kissed passionately. She couldn't wait to see her friends again.

Merida was cleaning her sword when Maudi came to her with a letter. "What's this?" Merida asked curiously. "This letter is from Mulan." Maudi answered. "Thank you." Merida thanked as Maudi walked off. "A couple days ago, I get a letter from Pocahontas. Now, I get a letter from Mulan. What's goin' on?" Merida speculated. But there was no time for the speculations to come into play. Merida opened the letter and read it.

The letter said:
"Dear Merida, I hope you've been doing well. Ping has been a ray of sunshine! I've invited you and Pocahontas to to come to China to see me, Ping, and Shang. Don't worry, I already asked Shang to give you a chance. I know he has his views about you, but he's willing to be patient with you. Plus, I hope you two form a significant bond! I hope this reaches you, and I can't wait to see you!

Mulan."

Merida was glad to know Shang was willing to give her a chance. Then again, she didn't know what to think. She didn't know if she wanted advice or a potential friendship with Shang. Just as she was going to the kitchen for a snack, she bumped into her dad. "Merida! Did yer mom tell you?" Fergus asked. "Yes, she did. I'm excited for her!" Merida beamed. "Speakin' of which, she's unwell at the moment and upstairs restin'." Fergus informed. "Oh!" Merida replied.

She suddenly bowed her head. "Is somethin' troublin' you, Lass?" Fergus asked. "Mulan has invited me to come to China and see her, but her husband absolutely hates me. What do I do?" Merida confessed. Fergus sat down next to his oldest child. "That Lad is VERY serious about his job, Lass. He's not like you or yer other friend, Pocahontas. We all have duties to fulfill, but HE has duties to fulfill every day." Fergus answered. Merida felt like she just had a reality check. "I knew he was all serious, but I never knew him like THAT." she said. "I know you want to be friends with him, but you need to be patient with him too." Fergus stated. Merida saw the answer right then and there. She and Shang were going to have to give each other respect if they were to become friends. "Thanks dad!" she thanked. She and The King hugged each other.
