And the fan of the month of August is... PrueFever! Yaaaaaay! Congratulations, you deserved it. Now, the questions.
Congratulations on being the Fan of the Month of August 2014! How do you feel about it?
Great, really great! But also a little bit weird. I’ve been on Fanpop since 2011, so I’m definitely one of the ”old” users here on Fanpop. But I think the reason I haven’t been Fan of the Month is because I haven’t been that active on the DP Spot in some time, so a lot of Fanpoppers didn’t know about me. But then I started to upload some Screencaps and that got me some new friends and then it earned me some nominations for FotM and I won the Countdown for August. So yeah, it feels great.
How long have you been an active member of the DP club?
Oh, jolly gosh... That’s a tough question... I’m sorry, but I have a terrible memory when it comes to remembering certain things and this is one of those things. (Laughs) But I’d say I’ve been an active member on the DP Spot for about 4 years. It was one of the Clubs I first joined, alongside The Little Mermaid Spot and the Disney Villains Spot.
How did you discover Fanpop?
I discovered Fanpop in January 2011. I remember looking on the Internet for Screencaptures from The Little Mermaid. I found a lot of those on the Mermaid Spot and then I checked the Polls and I really liked those. But I couldn’t vote in them since I wasn’t a member of the site yet. So I signed up for a membership and I can honestly say it’s the best decision I made in my life. I’m hooked as much now as I was when I signed in for the first time. There are just so many cool things you can do on Fanpop. And the best thing is that it’s completely free!
Who is your favourite Disney Princess, and why? And your least favourite?
My favorite Disney Princess is Princess Ariel from ”The Little Mermaid”. She’s a rulebreaker, troublemaker, Prince-marrier and just naive enough to be cute. I just love her adventurious side and her bubbly personality. She chased her dreams to the very end. It meant putting her own life in danger, but she wouldn't stop until she was with the one she loved. But I think my love for Ariel has a lot to with the fact that Mermaid was the very first Disney Movie I saw. Nostalgia definitely plays a huge part in my love for Ariel.
Least favorite Disney Princess is Rapunzel. I really can’t stand her. Sure, she’s beautiful animated and she’s... She’s... Erh, just not my cup of tea, let’s put it that way. She’s just way too modern for my taste. I just don’t understand why all the animated movies these days have to act all street-wise? Everything has to be Shrek and so funny. I mean, Rapunzel uses a frying pan as a weapon. ”Haha, that’s so funny!” some might say, but not me. I remember seeing Tangled in the cinema with my friends. One of my friends were laughing so hard and he LOVED Maximus! And again, I just don’t get it... A horse acting like a dog! Gets on my nerves every time I watch the movie.
I like Pascal, he was cute but Maximus is just plain annoying. I think Disney took it too far with that.
Who is your favorite Disney Prince? And your least favourite?
Hmm, good questions. Favorite Disney Prince... Has to be either The Prince, Prince Charming or The Beast/Prince Adam. I really like how romantic The Prince and Charming are. Prince Phillip included. And I love the transformation in The Beast, from an angry and grumpy guy to a romantic, sensetive guy.
Least favorite Prince is Flynn Rider, again from my least favorite DP Movie Tangled. Thinks highly of himself, way too modern, the smoulder... Not a fan!
Which princess have you started liking more than before, and why?
Cinderella. When I was a kid, it was all about Ariel, Jasmine and Pocahontas. Then when I started to collect Disney Movies on DVD and Cinderella arrived in October 2005, something changed. I saw the movie and fell in love with it completely. The characters, the story, the music. It was like I saw it for the first time. I had probably seen the movie when I grew up but it didn’t catch me like it did back in 2005. The same thing had happend with Bambi and Lady and the Tramp. When they got released on DVD, I saw them in a whole new light. Part of growing up, I guess. So yeah, Cinderella has grown on me... A lot!
What is your favourite DP song?
Has to be either A Whole New World from Aladdin or Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas. I just love both songs so much. They’re just pure Disney Magic. I get shivers every time I hear them.
What is your favorite Disney Princess movie? And your favourite scene?
Favorite Disney Princess Movie is The Little Mermaid. It was the first cartoon I remember seeing when I was a little boy. I remember being completely mesmerized by it! It just blew me away! I was so fascinated by the songs, the characters, the story, all of it! And my love for the film is still as strong as ever! I will always love The Little Mermaid and Disney. It has always meant a lot to me and my family. My dad always used to take me and my sisters to the local store and buy the latest Disney Film on VHS and then we went home, he made us dinner and in the evening we all sat down and watched the Disney Movie. I loved it. Also, every week when we got our allowance, I used to run down to the local Book Store and buy these little Disney Characters Figurines. I was obsessed! (Laughs). Also I've been to Disneyland Resort Paris twice. First was in September 2003 and the Second time was June 2010. And this year, I went to Walt Disney World in Florida with my little sister Joan. It's was great!
Favorite Scene from Mermaid is Crash the Wedding. You know, when Scuttle and his army of animal friends attack Ursula, disguised as Vanessa, from marrying Eric. Vanessa is so beautiful and I just love the way the animals attack her, I bet the animators had a lot of fun with this scene. A beautiful woman getting attacked like this. But also, it's a very important scene in the movie as Ariel and Eric doesn't get to kiss in time and Ursula wins.
What is your favorite non-Princess Disney movie?
Goodness gracious, that is a tough one! I’m a Disney Dude, so I really love most of them. But Pinocchio, Bambi and Lady and the Tramp comes to mind first. And if I have to pick just one movie, it would be Pinocchio. That movie has it all. Great animation, great songs and a beautiful score. Voices are Top-Notch as well.
Which princess do you think is the most unique?
Oh, Princess Merida from “Brave”. I like the fact that she doesn’t end up with a Prince. And the fact that she’s the first Disney•Pixar Princess. That’s what makes her unique in my eyes.
Which princess do you relate to the most, and why?
Belle. She’s the odd one in her hometown. I was the odd kid in my school. Socially awkward. I was never one of ’the cool kids’. I had a few friends and that was it. I never went to birthday parties or parties in general. So I’d have to say I relate to Belle the most. But also a lot of Ariel as I like to collect all kinds of Disney Junk. Posters, figurines, books, movies, mouse pads, mugs, plates, computer mouse, magazines, cards... A lot of Disney Stuff. So a little like Ariel as well.
Is there any Disney heroine you wish was considered an official DP?
Megara from Hercules. Because I love her. She’s a great Disney Character. And really beautiful. Also I think she has a great personality and if she was added into the DP Lineup, Hercules would recieve more love.
What fairy tale would you like to see Disney turn into a movie next?
Hmm, a new version of the Rapunzel fairy tale that’s not so Shrek-like? (Laughs) Or maybe Anastasia so we finally can end the ”Anastasia-is-not-a-Disney-Movie” once and for all.
You’re the first of the DP Users to earn a Purple Legendary Fan Medal for all your work in the Walt Disney Characters Spot. Congratulations. How did that make you feel when you saw it?
Thank you. I was Over the Moon at first! And it's funny, because a week or so before I got the Purple Medal, I had my 30th Birthday and when I logged on that day, I saw I had earned a Orange Super Fan Medal in the WDC Spot. And that was so great. I felt like it was a Birthday Present from Fanpop. And then, suddenly I got this Purple Medal. And I'm like "Whoa, time out! What just happend here..?" I just couldn't believe it! But after I read a reply on the Fanpop Page where the user KateKicksAss says the following:
"They're just virtual profile decoration! I mean, sure it might be fun to have some, but overall, they really don't affect your Fanpop experience."
And I realized, she was right! They are just Virtual Profile Decoration, but they are also great to have. For me, they show my affection for certain things, things I really like and care about, something that means a lot to me, personally!
Finally, why did you make the Walt Disney Characters Spot? What's the story behind it?
Well, it's a funny story behind this. So 3 years ago, I posted a poll in the DP Spot, that read:
”In the Screencaptures Section under Gallery, is it okay to post caps of other Disney Characters than the Disney Princesses?”
68% voted on “This is the Disney Princess Fan Club! Only the Princesses!” and comments like ”No. There are a million Disney or Disney related clubs on Fanpop. Post it there!” and ”Forget it!” made me realize that the DP Spot was only for the DP Screencaps and not the place to post caps from The Lion King or Bambi. So I though to myself: ”Okay, then I just have to make a Disney Club for my own where I can post the Screencaptures I desire” So I came up the name Walt Disney Characters and started to post DVD Screencapture from Mermaid, Bambi, Pinocchio and the other Disney Classics. Since then I have been deleting all those old DVD Screencaps and replaced them with HD Blu-Ray Screencaps instead. So there you have it.

I was thinking about the fact that Middle-Eastern and Indian royalty back in the days would have what is called a harem. Jasmine's dad as far as we know doesn't have one. If Jasmine's dad had one it would be very likely she would have had shared living quarters with her steps and half-sisters and maybe aunts.
I think if Jasmine had grown up in a harem she would been complete different and be 1)competitive and 2)she would also be Vigilant due to the number of X times she had been poison-if on purpose or by accident by the steps.
of course there's the fact Jafar could somehow 'use' her steps to get closer to her. So maybe that's one of the reasons why they didn't have a harem.
