13. Aurora
After she was granted the gift of beauty and song, perhaps what Merryweather was going to give her was the gift of personality. Although she has a healthy number of fans, the reality is 18 minutes of screentime combined with zero character complexity equals a princess that's bound to be at the bottom of most lists.

"I find Aurora so enchanting. She's elegant, playful, dreamy, and very mysterious because of her lack of screen time. " -audreybrooke

"Life tends to just happen to Aurora. She doesn't do anything to her life. So while she is pretty to look at, I find her to be uninteresting." -JungleQueen13

12. Snow White
Snow White suffers from the fact that her movie is seriously dated. Her character was created on the basis of escapism, so while she certainly has charm and a more bountiful personality than the previous princess, she still tends to run a little flat and her constant upbeat attitude could have only been created by Disney- no real girl can relate to that. Her old-fashioned charm just doesn't hold up to the modern girl.

"Her personality is one of the most distinct and iconic, mimicked (in good jest or spitefully) frequently in other medias. Her Pollyanna-like optimism, ever-cheerful demeanor and innocence are iconic. But she's also pretty bossy and seems a little insecure, which makes her well-rounded."- AudreyFreak

"Snow's a little selfish when she assumes to take over the dwarfs' house and make up all new rules for them. That was a touch arrogant. But on the whole, besides her bossy side, she is cute and innocent." -8804

11.Anna
In an age where the Snow White era should be far behind us, Anna drums up a character trait that seems bizarrely out of place- an open demand for romance. Anna encompasses the kind of desperation for love that struck a bad chord with a lot of audiences, especially since she seems to switch her affections from man to man without a second thought. There's no doubt that her awkwardness and loneliness and need for love is relatable which many fanpop fans seemed to love. But to the rest, the way she goes about trying to find love just leaves her looking naive, selfish, and uncaring.

"She is exactly the kind of female character I hate to see. Oh, she is spunky, and tries to do the right thing, never mind that she is totally incompetent. And look how dorky she looks with her hair messed up, and how clumsy she is (I have nothing against clumsiness if it is relevant to the story, but in this case it is just used as a token character flaw). Plus there is no reason for her to be that naïve. It is not like Elsa is the only other person in the palace, there are other people around (and I presume teachers).
Plus, I hate how she is all "I want romance! Now!" I thought we left THAT behind in the classic era." -Swanpride

"At first, I thought she was nice, but there was nothing unique or original about her, but now I absolutely love her. She's selfless, quirky and an all-around wonderful, relatable and realistic character. There's so much to look up to about her. I like that young girls can look at her and not be pressured to look up to her and not feel pressured to look/behave perfectly all the time, but at the same time she's so admirable."- magnoliainmay

10.Ariel
One of the most controversial and talked about princesses on fanpop, Ariel seems to take an extreme to either end, this time taking a huge dip from her former high popularity. Either she's admired for her determination, spunkiness, rebelliousness, and the fact that she has flaws -- or it's those same traits that condemn her as their viewed as selfishness, irresponsibility, and immaturity.

"What is loudest around this club are protests about the selfishness of her dream, the bratty defiance she shows in an attempt to take back her own agency from her father's abuse, the fact that she goes to a sea witch after her father ruined all of her possessions, and the fact that she falls for a person she does not know right away, and attempts to leave her family and transition to a new life with said prince." -8804

"She shows how if you want your dream that you need to do whatever it takes and how you will face sacrifices when you are going after your dream. You might have to move away from your family and go to a strange new place. I also love how she started the whole pro-active Disney female formula. She doesn't wait around for things to happen and never let's anyone bring her down. " -Kataralover

9.Merida
One thing noting about Merida is she beat Ariel by ONE point, so I'd say they're essentially tied. Without being too repetitious, I'm going to leave this one short. Fanpop has the same opinion of her as Ariel- she's either selfish, spoiled, and inconsiderate, or total badass heroine that steps out of the princess mold.

"I think people tend to take extreme positions on their opinion of Merida. Some people view her as a feminist-friendly, anti-princess, anti-romantic character while others view her as spoiled rotten and that changing her mother is unforgivable. It seems that some of these opinions are on the wane but it still pops up from time to time. The point is is that each side is only partially right but don't paint an accurate picture of her. " -Digoenes

8. Pocahontas
It's obvious why Pocahontas is loved, when she is. She's brave, strong, a compassionate leader, and is dedicated to bringing peace to her tribe. But she also serves as a desecration to her real counterpart and her indecisiveness and dull personality in the second act can be detrimental to her ranking.

"Her free-sprited and strong willed nature has always intrigued. She is one of the bravest princesses. Many find her boring, but she was attempting to stop a WAR people! Her selflessness is amazing as well." -CraZy_rawR

"Pocahontas, while certainly one of the more feminist-friendly princesses, unfortunately also suffers from a lackluster plot that drags not only her personality down but also the characters and action around her. Not to mention the half-hearted voice acting Irene Bedard gives." -princesslullaby

7. Elsa
While Elsa seems to have a strong connection with those with anxiety and depression, it can also be argued that any claim of personality she has is a projection from those previously mentioned. Elsa seems to be more of a caricature of someone with mental and social issues than an actual independently standing character, but this allows her to be interpreted by the viewer and be more broad in her appeal.

"As someone who has delt with anxiety for a very long time I really like Elsa. I can relate to that feeling of running away. I believe her success is because so many people feel they have inner demons and could relate." -dancing_dear

"What can I say? Jennifer Lee wrote Elsa this way: as an underdeveloped woman, scared stiff by her ice powers, to the point where she can't even have a relationship with her own sister. During the course of the movie, Elsa treats her sister so poorly, that it was extremely painful for me to watch. " -8804

6. Jasmine
Jasmine's verbal contention against the arrogant suitors who try to win her is a strong selling point of her popularity. She's a fiery female figure in a time and place where women were dominated by men and usually had very little say (and sometimes still don't). Jasmine can be credited from a feminist point for being very vocal about the grievances against her and pointing out that she is no prize or conquest, something female characters don't often do. However, her actions don't speak as loud as her words and she falls trap to the damsel in distress trope anyway.

"She is a strong female figure in a movie that takes place in the middle east where generally women had little to no say. She is clever and doesn't even take crap from Aladdin." -dancing_dear

"I also can't help but think that while I support her desire for controlling her own life, I am not sure if I approve of her methods to reach her goals. Can't she deny her suitors without humiliating them, they are all princes after all, she is lucky that none of them retaliated politically. And why doesn't she study the laws herself for loopholes? She could have tried to convince her father to change the law, she basically only had to tell him that she can do it. And she constantly overestimates herself." -Swanpride

5. Tiana
Tiana's workaholic, try til you die personality is a hit or miss with fans. Considering she's on the higher end of this list, it seems that more fans appreciate her working hard for her goals and not letting anything get her down, especially as a poor black woman attempting to run her own business in the 1920's. But sometimes she is called out for being downright mean and treating Naveen poorly, as well as giving a contradicting message of the importance of putting a man before her work by the end of the film. Overall though, despite a small number of dissatisfied viewers, she's seen as a very inspirational character.

"She's so wonderfu and inspirational in the beginning, then just becomes derogatory, flat, disappointing, and downright mean." -princesslullaby

"Tiana just ATTEMPTING to do this in a time when it was considered radical and a completely stupid [even dangerous] idea to do so, is very inspiring to me. She also worked her entire life just to get her restaurant, and you can see how driven she is to do this. That in itself is inspiring; working hard to get what you want and make your dreams come true, even if considered impossible by many, is so important. " -justinfangrrl

4.Cinderella
The appreciation for Cinderella seems to have risen steadily over the years. Her never-ending patience and kindness towards others combined with her grounded and steady personality is inspirational to those going through a similar situation as her. She did everything she could to improve her life for herself without causing harm to others. She's still a little old-fashioned to the modern woman, but highly the most relateable out of the
classics.

"The emotional strength she has to take abuse and never become a bitter, vengeful person is so admirable, and I honestly don't think all of the heroines would be able to make it as long as she did. She's the strongest princess, and she only cracked when she had at last reached her breaking point when all hope seemed lost. She's not the ditzy dreamer many people incorrectly brush her off as- she's quite a grounded realist. " -AudreyFreak

3.Rapunzel
The incredible emotional strength Rapunzel carries with her and her determination to overcome her fears is the main reason for her high rank. Rapunzel is to the modern woman what Cinderella couldn't fulfill- through an abusive situation, she manages to actually break free of her own accord and tail after her dream, accomplishing what she'd always dreamed of and finding love along the way.

"I think Rapunzel is an amazing role model, especially for those who live in abusive situations. While it is admirable to think of other's before yourself, there definitely is a line and I think Rapunzel is able to navigate it beautifully. She is incredibly considerate of others, whether it is her mother, pascal, Flynn, the townspeople or even some random guys at a tavern. So much so that it is a little bit naive (thank god it' a Disney movie). Overall, I think she's a wonderful character, who has just the right balance of selflessness, optimism, intelligence, and bravery. One of my favorites." -Aang_Lite

2. Belle
Belle, having a gentle personality that yearns for something more, doesn't allow herself to be treated badly and stands up to Gaston and the Beast when others hadn't. Sometimes criticized as being too perfect, Belle still seems to resonate with fans over her passion for books and inability to connect with anyone in her town despite her multiple attempts to do so.

"She was willing to give up her freedom for her father's life. She continued to give the Beast a chance because she knew of the kind heart that was buried underneath his horrible temper. She refused to be Gaston's wife because he was pig-hearted." -Beastlysoul25

1.Mulan
If her simply being kickass and brave were the soul reasons for Mulan winning number one, many other princesses could have taken this spot. But there's more than that to Mulan; it's how she changes from an unmotivated, misunderstood, clumsy girl who hasn't quite caught up to her peers into a courageous, nimble warrior that makes her own decisions and takes great risks that makes Mulan so popular. People want to see themselves turn out like Mulan- to go from a nobody to a somebody is a desire most everyone has. Mulan is an inspiration to that dream and throughout the movie we see Mulan discover her own strengths rather than those expected of her.

(A/N: If you haven't read the original story, read THAT ONE before you read this one.)

It had been over a year since Mulan, Pocahontas and Merida payed each other a visit. During that time, they wrote frequently. Then it got to where writing wasn't enough. The threesome needed to see each other. Mulan loved being a stay-at-home mom; Pocahontas loved being a new mom and helping her tribe every chance she got; and Merida loved helping with her baby twin sisters; But they knew deep down if they didn't see each other soon, they were going to go crazy. Pocahontas asked if her dad, Chief Powhatan,...

Even though Merida isn't in my top 5 favorite Disney Princesses I still love her very much

I love how she stands out from most of the other princesses by not singing (unless you count her singing in Noble Maiden Fair, but she was just a child at that point), end up single and being made by Pixar

I love the relationship between her and her mother and how it develops in the movie, they probably have the best family relationship in a...

My first article of 2014 (not really since not every part of the world is in 2014 yet, in some parts of the world it's still 2013, but for me it is)

Chapter 3: The Lazy Girl
It was morning in Jamestown, Virginia and Pocahontas woke up by that her friend Nakoma called her
"Come on, get up", she called
"Give me some more minutes, I hate mornings", Pocahontas replied

Pocahontas had never liked mornings, it meant running around in the forest or canoeing down the river and Pocahontas had never enjoyed either, she just wanted to relax the entire day and basically not doing anything, but Nakoma always...

It's been a while since I last wrote a fan fiction so I decided to try again with two fan fictions, this one is called the Ordinary Princesses and the other one will be called The Special Girls

This is what The Ordinary Princesses is about:
11 girls from our world are taken to 11 different kingdoms to become raised by royal parents because their own parents can't take care of them. None of the princesses knows that they're from the real world, but they know that they act weird since people looks at them in a weird way

You'll learn the rest of the story as I write more, but anyway hope you'll enjoy...

OK, last night, I had a dream related to the scene where Rapunzel says she will go with Gothel if she lets her heal him. Based on that, I felt I had to write this article.

Last time I wrote an article related to Gothel it was to explain as to why I didn't think she was necessarily a villain. This will be another article in a series of what I like to call my "Mother Gothel Anti-Roast" articles.

In this one, I will try to explain why I believe that despite what most people may think, Mother Gothel is indeed capable of feeling love.

Now, I will agree that some of the things Gothel did to Rapunzel...
