Hi everyone, I thought that it would interesting to write about my personal expectations for the upcoming live-action reboot of Disney's Beauty and the Beast coming up next year. The article will highlight on my thoughts and impressions on the actors and the music.
The Casts
One of the things about the casts itself are the famous title characters, when I heard that Emma Watson was cast as Belle. I was impressed about this decision because she's trying to avoid the typecast of Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. It is also her first movie debut with Disney!
The beast on the other hand, is none other than Dan Stevens. Who was Lily James's Downton Abbey costar, I was skeptical about the casting decision because he has the looks for Prince Adam. But, I would go for either Joaquin Phoenix or Gerard Butler, most likely the latter after his portrayal as the Phantom in the 2004 Phantom of the Opera.
The others like Lumiere and Cogsworth are superb, especially for Ewan Mcgregor who has been having trouble with his French accent! But, I hope he plays Lumiere just like how Jerry Orbach portrayed him in the 1991 animated film.
When I heard that Josh Gad is going to play Lefou, I was like 'Oh Lord, it's Olaf!'. I mean, can't they choose another actor in the likes of Ryan Stiles (Whose Line is it Anyway?) to play Lefou, but one problem, Ryan is very tall and he will be even taller than Chris Evans, who'll play Gaston.
Moving on to Gaston, I love how the British are often portrayed as villains. In this case, Simon Cowell! But, I like the idea of him playing Gaston.
The Music
When I first heard that Broadway version of the movie was coming, I was thrilled. Until Alan Menken decided not to include the famous moment 'If I Can't Love Her'. Which is the climax of the movie, I was disappointed about it.
He also written a new song for both the beast and the enchanted objects. Which I suspect that it was a replacement song for 'Humans Again', especially for the latter themselves.
The Movie
I am not really sure whether the movie is going to be like the animated one or the Broadway version, despite that the latter is based on the former. But, I'll give a chance to the directors and producers for this, and that it is as magical as Cinderella.
Conclusion
So there you have it, these are my expectations for the upcoming Beauty and the Beast movie next year. As I mentioned earlier on, I hope that it captures the magic like what Cinderella did last year.

I was thinking about the fact that Middle-Eastern and Indian royalty back in the days would have what is called a harem. Jasmine's dad as far as we know doesn't have one. If Jasmine's dad had one it would be very likely she would have had shared living quarters with her steps and half-sisters and maybe aunts.
I think if Jasmine had grown up in a harem she would been complete different and be 1)competitive and 2)she would also be Vigilant due to the number of X times she had been poison-if on purpose or by accident by the steps.
of course there's the fact Jafar could somehow 'use' her steps to get closer to her. So maybe that's one of the reasons why they didn't have a harem.
