Dungeons & Dragons (or D&D for short) is a super fun tabletop roleplaying game that's been around since the 1970s but has recently gained a fair bit of popularity. I've been playing the game for around eight years at time of writing, and I strongly recommend you give it a try if you ever get the chance. It's really an absolute blast! D&D has always been one of my favorite hobbies, but within the last two years it's become an even bigger part of my life. Since I've been having so much fun with it recently, I decided it was finally time to try something I'd always wanted to do: turning the Disney Princesses into D&D characters.

Over the last year I've been slowly creating D&D characters based off of the DPs, and I spent so much time on them that I really wanted to share them here. I'll be posting a series of articles, one for each DP, in which I explain why I chose the classes, subclasses, etc. for each princess, and share the backstory I wrote for each. I'll also be crossposting these articles to the D&D club. All the characters will be level 3 to ensure that they all have a chosen subclass. Sourcebooks used to build these characters include the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

Since I expect many of you here don't play D&D or maybe even haven't heard of it, I'll begin with the backstory I wrote since you might find that the most interesting. Below the backstory you'll find the more nitty gritty stats of the characters. Anything written in italics is an author's note explaining my reasoning behind certain character choices.

Tiana

Human Ranger - Swarmkeeper / Background - Guild Artisan

I had so much trouble deciding what to make Tia. Her whole thing is that she loves cooking, and there really is no D&D class that I'm aware of that has anything to do with that. I was really reaching for something and eventually went ...well... rangers hunt... so maybe she hunts... for her food...??? So I started looking at ranger subclasses and lo and behold the perfect one was staring me right in the face! Tia has many friends among the fireflies of the bayou. She is 100% a Swarmkeeper, and her swarm is a beautiful cloud of blinking fireflies! I gave her the guild artisan background because cook was one of the options in that.

Backstory

Backstories have been created with a combination of the stories from the films and rolling randomly on the random tables in the "This Is Your Life" section of Xanathar's Guide to Everything, which is why some of these backstories have some wild things that really come out of left field lol.

I was born to Eudora and James Guillory in the open field where they had just begun constructing our home. They had chosen to move away from the city to try their hand at farming the land. Unfortunately, the land turned out to be swampy and was not ideal for traditional farming. My parents were resourceful, however, and focused their efforts on crops that liked the damp environment, and supplemented what food we grew with hunting the beasts that roamed the land.

My father loved nothing more than to cook, and I inherited that passion from him. When I was young he taught me all that he knew. Sadly, he was called away to war, and he was killed in battle. The rest of my childhood I was raised by my mother. We lived a poor life in our small house, but I had a few close friends amongst the few other families who lived in our rural community.

In addition to having talent in the kitchen, I was also an accomplished hunter. Living on the edge of a swamp, the area was imperiled by land creatures as well as aquatic ones, and I enjoyed the connection I felt with my meals when I hunted them myself. As I honed my hunting skills by bringing down the dangerous animals that stalked the edges of our community, I found a deep sense of purpose, and I began to cultivate the skills of a ranger. I bear no enmity toward the beasts I slay. I stalk such creatures as a hunter tracks down a wild animal.

However, I still adored cooking, and I'd always dreamed of joining the Cooks Guild of the nearest city. I chose to leave our home for a time to pursue my dream. I found work in the kitchens of an Inn and began my apprenticeship. I had learned the essentials from my father already, but the guild polished off my training, and it was not long before I became a full-fledged member.

While spending time in the city, a chance encounter led me to meet Prince Naveen. He'd been morphed into a frog by a nefarious warlock, and my attempt to help him transferred the spell onto me! It took us quite some time to break the curse, and during that time I grew very fond of him. Though we hated each other initially, I came to realize that I loved him. During our journey to break the curse, I acquired a sheet of parchment upon which is drawn a complex mechanical contraption. I'm not sure what it is for or what it does.

Once we returned to our human forms, we announced our plans to be married to the King and Queen. Unfortunately, they were not pleased with my humble background and they forbade our union and forced Naveen to stay within the palace walls.

Knowing that adventuring is an exceptionally lucrative, though dangerous, occupation, I have set out in search of treasure and hopefully a noble title. I intend to win the hand of my prince no matter what it takes.

This one ended up... kinda weird. I don't hate it though?

Character Stats

Level 3

STR -1 (9) DEX +3 (16) CON +2 (14) INT 0 (11) WIS +2 (15) CHA +1 (13)

I used the standard array to generate stats. I tried to assign them in a way that would allow for a strong D&D character while still remaining mostly true to the attributes of the character in the film.

HP 28
AC 14 (leather)
Initiative +3
Speed 30 ft.

Saving throws: Str +1, Dex +5

Skills: Animal Handling +4, Insight +4, Nature +2, Persuasion +3, Survival +4 (For her class skills I gave her Animal Handling, Nature, and Survival. She literally was an animal in her film so she probably knows her way around animals, and being a ranger she'd know a lot about the natural area she lives in and how to survive in it. Insight and Persuasion were granted by her background.)

Languages: Common, Elvish, Halfling, Sylvan (I gave her Elvish since swamps are often near forested areas. I gave her Halfling because they're supposed to be good cooks?? I gave her Sylvan because she's had brushes with voodoo magic. Idk man, Tia's been a conundrum to make.)

Tools: Cook's Utensils

Features and Traits

Favored Enemy: You have advantage on Survival checks to track your favored enemies, as well as on INT checks to recall information about them. You also learn one language of your choice that is spoken by your favored enemies, if they speak one at all. - Beasts: Beasts are nonhumanoid creatures that are a natural part of the fantasy ecology. Some of them have magical powers, but most are unintelligent and lack any society or language. (Since I wanted to make her a hunter I went with beasts, since that category encompasses all animals she might hunt for food.)

Natural Explorer: You have a favored terrain type. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for proficient skills when you make an INT or WIS check related to it. While traveling for an hour or more in your chosen terrain, difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel, your group can’t become lost except by magical means, you remain alert to danger even when you are engaged in another activity, you can move stealthily at a normal pace (while alone), you find twice as much food while foraging, and while tracking creatures, you learn the exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area. - Swamp (Obviously with her familiarity with the bayou her favored terrain would be swamp.)

Fighting Style: You adopt a particular style of fighting as your specialty.
- Thrown Weapon Fighting: You can draw a weapon that has the thrown property as part of the attack you make with the weapon. In addition, when you hit with a ranged attack using a thrown weapon, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll. (I chose Thrown Weapon Fighting for her because Naveen comments on what a great throwing arm she has lmao.)

Gathered Swarm: Once on each of your turns, you can cause the swarm to assist you in one of the following ways, immediately after you hit a creature with an attack:
- The attack’s target takes 1d6 piercing damage from the swarm.
- The attack’s target must succeed on a STR saving throw (DC:12) or be moved by the swarm up to 15 ft. horizontally in a direction of your choice.
- You are moved by the swarm 5 ft. horizontally in a direction of your choice.

Spells

Modifier: +2
Spell attack: +4
Save DC: 12

Cantrips (at will): Mage Hand
1st level (3 slots): Faerie Fire, Goodberry, Hunter's Mark, Snare

I tried to give her hunter-y spells because the whole reason I picked Ranger was so she could be good at hunting. And Goodberry because... berries are food... idk lol

Actions

Dagger: +5 to hit, 1d4+3 piercing damage

Longbow: +5 to hit, 1d8+3 piercing damage

Primeval Awareness: As an action, you can expend one ranger spell slot (1 minute per level of spell slot) to sense whether any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain). This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.

That's it for Tiana! I hope you enjoyed reading. If you have any questions or opinions I'd love to hear them in the comments! See you tomorrow with another princess~

One Song from each film From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen This was hard because I love a lot of songs in each film *CouchPocahontasThePrincessandtheFrogTangledandFrozen* so hopefully I can rank this just right.

12: One Jump Ahead Reprise ~Aladdin
Aladdin is personally a hard movie to rank for favorite song, the songs aren’t the best songs mainly because their all filler. But One Jump Ahead Reprise is mainly the song that makes the movie. Sadly I don’t like Aladdin’s singing voice.

11: Reflection ~Mulan
This song has been losing it magical touch on me ’Just like a lot of...

Hello, guys! I hope you've been having a good week! Again, I'm SO sorry I took incredibly long posting my last one! (Life getting in the way, certain members of my family having one birthday after another, including me, and the holidays are just afew examples. I also want to apologize about the delay on this one, too. Hopefully, this delay wasn't as long!) Now with more time on my hands, I'll likely be able to post this one sooner. Now, why don't we get on the thing, shall we? ;)

Today's article will be about both versions of Cinderella.

The characters:

Team 1989?
Team 1989?
Hello everyone, as I did for previous Disney Princess reboots, here is a comparison of the 1989 animated film with its 2023 live action reboot. With that being said, let's dive in!

The Storyline

While the storyline is faithful to the 1989 animated feature, I was very happy that there are several scenes that actually filled in the plot hole. Like we get to see Prince Eric's adopted mother and their relationship between mother and son. tied
Speaking of parental relationship, Ariel's relationship with her dad remains the same, except that in the animated feature. King Triton is a very hot tempered...

7) Bejewelled Princess Dress

This dress is over-the-top! She is not the type of princess who would appreciate being decorated like a Christmas tree and then find that she cannot walk without feeling the heaviness of weight pulling her down. It doesn't suit her at all.

6) Makeover glittery and patterned dress

This is better than the last one but still over-the top. This time it's the gold patterns on the skirt. There's too many patterns. The bodice part is more. subtle with a singular pattern on the side. I like that. But the shiny blue sleeves are distracting. Too shiny. Her headband is...

This T-shirt design is of me as a Disney Villain. It is based on the Serena Valentino book Cold-Hearted which chronicles my second wife's backstory and how she became evil. I am one of the main villains in that because I only married her for her first husband's money, made her and my stepdaughters do housework, favoured my Cinderella over my stepdaughters and even locked my wife in her room so she couldn't escape. And that was before I died and they abused Cinderella.#

I am now a ghost and forever haunting my old chateau.
Hi, y'all! I hope you enjoyed the article I posted last, and I hope you'll enjoy more in the future!

Today's article will be about both versions of Beauty And The Beast.

The characters:

(Before I begin, I just want to say as much as I love the characters, I might not be able to include them all, but, I'll try my best to give them a mention or two. If I leave out a character you love, my sincerest apologies in advance.)

Belle:

I have to be honest, I thought both versions were just outstanding. One thing I liked about the live-action Belle, though, is her bravery. (I.E. When she tried to escape after...

Yet another Mary Sue test. This time, it's Esmeralda. She's very similar to Belle, who scored surprisingly low. Let's see if she's as perfect on the inside as she is on the outside.

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- Sort of. Green eyes aren't impossible in WOC, but they are more unique, and her eyes are drawn in a very striking and eye-catching way. Though it is just to justify her name. .5
An odd name- 'Esmeralda' is definitely a unique (though also very pretty) name. 1.
Looks constantly commented on- Yes. She even uses her appearance as a weapon. 1.
Always the hero- No, she has to be...

I'm not strictly doing these in chronological order, it's just a coincidence that I chose Ariel next. You might think Ariel isn't a Mary Sue because of her obvious flaws that a lot people hate her for, but I think she still could be. Mary Sues can have flaws (hence why that trait doesn't just say "No flaws" and nothing else). So let's see.

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- Sort of. Red hair is common enough, but her shade of red definitely isn't. .5
An odd name- Sort of. 'Ariel' is common enough by mermaid standards, but she's the only one of her siblings with a name not ending...

Wow, I'm on a role with these tests. I look up clips from the movies for these (though I don't have enough patience to watch the full movies, just the parts relating to the traits). I found the whole of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves on Youtube...presumably. It was just a cut and edited version of the movie played multiple times to make it look like the full movie. Still, it gave me enough information.

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- No. Her "hair as black as ebony" and brown eyes are common.
An odd name- Yes. 'Snow White' isn't a name you'd find in anyone in real life, or...

After doing the more modern princesses, I switched to the classics, who are accused of being Mary Sues a lot. (I might not do ones for Merida and Tiana, since they pretty obviously aren't Mary Sues). Starting with Cinderella.

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- No. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, common traits.
An odd name- Yes. It'd make sense if it was explained Cinderella was a nickname and her real name is Ella, like in some versions, but it isn't in the film. 1.
Looks constantly commented on- Yes. Cinderella is described as beautiful, and the prince considers her the most...

Nearly all princesses, they have love interests. Although I am really into romance, I admire some of the couples. I love Ariel & Eric, but my favorite couple is Rapunzel & Flynn. Anyway let me not mess the topic.

One of the most admired princesses is a strawberry blonde, hardworking girl with diamond blue eyes, she is so kind to animals ; Its Cindy! Cinderella I mean. Cinderella's love interest is Prince Charming. But I really don't like them as a couple and here are some reasons why:

1~ Charming doesn't deserve Cinderella

As I said, Cinderella is a hardworking, nice, kind girl while Charming...

As there are many princesses Disney created, some of them get forgotten by many people on Fanpop. Some, even get forgotten by the whole internet and maybe the universe? Discs? TV? Okay, not that much but still..

I have to say my favorite princess *sighs* is underrated on Fanpop. Elsa is one of the most popular princesses on the internet, but not to say Fanpop. People in fanpop usually think she is 'overrated' and that's why they leave her underrated. Some Frozen fans post articles about how great Elsa is, including me but that just makes people feel like Elsa is liked because of her powers....
