How to get Lisa Edelstein back on House!

House fans, do NOT give up because it is NOT over. Lisa Edelstein may have issued a statement, but TPTB at House and the executives at Fox Broadcasting and NBC Universal have not commented on or confirmed her departure. Though we don't know the details of her exit, it doesn't matter. What matters is that we emphasize a mistake has been made and pressure Fox/NBCU to renegotiate. What matters is that Lisa said she was "disappointed," and leading up to the renewal of the show itself she was quoted (by Ausiello) as looking forward to season 8. Just because she's leaving doesn't mean she wants to leave, so we need to GET HER BACK.

Viewers need to let the executives at Fox Broadcasting and NBC Universal know how MUCH letting Lisa go will affect them. These are the people who are making the decisions about Lisa's contract. They need to know it will hit their bottom line; people won't watch and ratings will drop. Viewers need to call/email to complain and protest. We need to let them know Lisa Edelstein is an integral part of the show and concluding the series without her will have dire consequences.

***UPDATED*** As everyone knows, on Monday May 23, 2011 the season finale of House airs. This is when we make our biggest move: We need to make Lisa Edelstein a trending topic. She trended WORLDWIDE, just her name: LISA EDELSTEIN, the day her statement was released. She can trend again. Especially the night of the finale since it's "supposed" to be her last episode. People in general will likely be mentioning her again on twitter (for whatever reason), so it increases our chances of trending if we make sure to tweet HER NAME. So on Monday viewers need to mobilize and make HER NAME a trending topic.

You can say anything you like, perhaps "there's no season 8 without Lisa Edelstein" or "House needs Lisa Edelstein". Just be sure to include her name in the message since it is more commonly used. Additionally, we need to tweet:

Also, it's a good idea to get the ball rolling AHEAD of the finale (8/7 PM est/cst time), so we have some momentum going by the time it airs. The idea is to to have as many people tweeting and retweeting during the show to grab attention. So start tweeting now in preparation for "the big show." Get the word out to tweet Lisa Edelstein and #WeSupportLisaE for the finale. It's critical that everyone knows where the viewers stand. Knows HOW MANY of us feel this way, and know it during Lisa's potential last episode (especially @FOXBroadcasting, @HouseonFox and @GregYaitanes). Lisa Edelstein has trended before and we can do it again!!

LaurieLover THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! WHY are we only going to bat for LE? There are others that have taken "pay cuts" and are loyal and professional enough to see this thing through to the end. Why are we not demanding their contracts be re-negotiated? Nobody is irreplaceable! Remember this show is called HOUSE M.D not Cuddy MD!! LE is the one who made the mistake. I watch because of Hugh Laurie. And her leaving is not ideal but it is not the end of the show.

marmot15 LaurieLover, you're entitled to your opinion but if everything was so cut and dry how come TPTB have declined to comment? What's going on BTS? Is it that Fox advertisers didn't want the network to re-sign Lisa because she did an abortion PSA?? Working diligently for 7 years she deserves to be compensated fairly. She is the show's biggest cheerleader and does more PR for them than most the cast (except Hugh, but he's usually promoting personal projects). I doubt she's being a "diva" or making outrageous demands. Colleagues can't praise her enough; numerous producers, Omar, RSL and Hugh himself have said she works harder than anyone else. There's something going on.

Yes, she has always been a cheerleader but NOW when things are in a difficult position one would think SHE would be the first one to want to make good. If she was victimised because of her Abortion views the networks and their advertisers are opening themselves up to multi million $ lawsuits. Furthermore anyone placing an advertisment on a TV Nework or Radio Station had to pay said Network or Radio Station for the airtime. It is how they (Fox, CBS, NCB, ABC etc) make their money. So advertisers who pay a network for a service, cannot then make the kind of demand you mention as they have no leverage, they are buying a specific thing, in this case airtime, no the right to dictate procedure and/or employment contracts. C’mon now, be realistic and see it for what it is! And NO we have not heard from Fox or NBC Universal, perhaps they are still trying to get to a resolution. I would not hold my breath though. But again WHY does only LE deserve this kind of initiative? Why are we not demanding EVERYONE “be treated fairly?” I think you’ll find there are more House MD fans than you think that would be quite happy if LE did not come back. Stop looking to place blame with others, when this was ultimately her decision! OH and FYI NOBODY on that set works harder or longer than Hugh Laurie and that is why he gets paid what he does. THAT IS THE TRUTH!!

OpossumAttack No harm trying to get her back as long as no one is getting hurt in the process. Odds are the fans will not make a difference in this, but it's worth a shot. I think it's more ridiculous to get upset over other people getting upset over LE leaving.
