Chapter One: TV Through Time
Kelcey's POV
Yeah, just a normal day, rocking it with my neighbor and som friends. I had on black combat boots, black jeans, a black sweater, a black sleeveless vest, a pillow case that was cut up and seen to look like a mask, a grey scarf around my waist, and to tie it all together, I had a bunch of paper towel tubes taped together and painted gold. Beside me, Lucas, my neighbors cousin and on of my best friends outside school, was on jeans, blue sneakers, a blue and white shirt and a blue baseball cap. His little cousin, Chad, had on red rain boots, jeans, a red hoodie and his NinjaGo Kai hat. Why did we do this? Well, we are all really big fans of Lego Ninjago, we were friends, and we liked to role play. Only thin missing was the white and green ninja, usually played by Sarah and Kyle, who were 5 and 6. So, we had a 5 Y/O, a 6Y/O, a 7Y/O, a 12 Y/O, and a 13Y/O dresses as Lloyd, Zane, Kai, Jay and Cole.
"let's get started without them, its gonna storm in a while." said Lucas.
"okay, but how do we start. We left off with them with us at the New Years Eve party" said Brad -
Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention: it was January 1st.
"so let's start a whole new RP! Just scratch this and begin randomly fighting lawn gnomes, I mean serpentine, until they get here!"
"well, how are we gonna win without Lloyd?" Brad asked.
"I dunno, Kai, it's just true serpentine! I didn't SAY Lord Garmadon was here! We don't have your mother's cherry tree growing any more, so we don't have a final battle to look to. Let's just fight, RP or not!" I said. Geez, sometimes I say a lot at a time.
"Well then, lead us, leader Cole." Lucas teasingly fell to his knees and bowed down.
"keep worshiping me. Your queen is here!" I sat on a bench not to far away, when my phone buzzed in my pocket. Several buzzes. Must be something important. I pulled it out and turned it on.
The screen read:
'Txt Frm ALLY:
Hey, sup Kelce! Important news: ur gunna luv it! ONE DIRECTION PARTY!!!!!!!! Yeah, you me, Mel and some others are gonna buy as muh 1D stuff as we can and start a club! IN UR BACKYARD!'
In my backyard? Didn't she know we were taking down the treehouse?
Another text:
'Txt Frm MELIE:
Dus Ally no ur takin the tree house down?'
I gave a slight chuckle.
'no.' I hit send.
"what's so funny?" Jay, I mean Lucas, asked.
"nothing. Just got a few texts." I answered, continuing to scroll through m new messages.
'Txt Frm Mikal-Peeta:
Ha! In ur face! Gots the new Hunger Games throw lanket, too! And the calendar, and the book light! IN. UR. FACE.'
I raised andbegan to reply, but Chad pulled my arm.
"but, but Cole! We're supposed to be fighting monster snake people!!!" he wined.
"oh, how could I forget, We're a team!" I exclaimed, trying for my best impersonation of Cole.
"Well, simple. Your an idiot." Lucas replied. He sounds an aweful lot like Jay no matter what. He has the same-ish voice, kinda the same but messier hair. So he's pretty much the chosen Jay. Chad it Kai because he was just recently indicted into the group, whose get-togethers were usually held at my house. I'm Cole because I love Cole.
We continued to use out fake weapons of Spinjitsu to hit garden gnomes and what at a tree. But in our minds eye, we were three ninjas, wiping out a bunch of serpentine and the great devourer.
Kaitlyn's POV
I Was just listening to my favorite CD, when Kelcey called.
"HEY!!!!" she screamed. A little louder than necessary.
"what?" I asked.
"you sound annoyed." she said. I was, I was.
"what, me? No!" I said in a mocking tone.
"well, we're just about to watch season one NinjaGo." she said.
"ooh! I'll be right over!" I said. I pressed end call before said anymore, stuffed the phone in my jacket pocket and hobbled over to my younger cousin's house. It's so wierd. How a 15 year old girl can be so interested in a Lego proguction of a bunch of ninjas. Nevertheless, I keep walking. Thinking thoughts of the new year, and what to get Kelcey for her birthday. She didn't really want anything. Except for the impossible: "Be brittish and live with One Direction in NinjaGo city were I get private concerts and fight with the ninja on a regular basis!!!" pff! Yeah. Who doesn't want that? I decided just to use my money and get her a Niall doll, just because she already had Louis and Harry.
Kelcey's POV
Well. We're all here. me, Chad and Lucas, my cousins, Kaitlyn, mikey and Danny. The six biggest NinjaGo fans I know. All together to watch season one. Secretly, my cousins and I pretend we live in ninjago when we watch this, for it was a pact we made long ago, to live in ninjago someday.
I turned on my TV, and put in my DVD. It was a blank on we brought from the store, that I had burned season one onto.
But instead of "episode one: way of the ninja." on the screen was "adventure one: the universal remote."
I hit pause. Lucas and Chad stared at me confusedly, but my cousins understood.
"is this new footage?" Danny asked.
"I don't believe so. I made it before episode 18 even aired!" I said.
"well, maybe we should just watch it off of YouTube." said Kaitlyn.
"what's the matter? It was fine, nothing's wrong with it!" Lucas complained.
"didn't you see what the screen said?" asked Danny.
"episode one: way of the ninja!" said Lucas.
"no, it said adventure one: the universal remote!" said Mikey.
This was turning into a full blown argument. I pressed the channel up button on the remote, expecting static. Instead, I got a giant blackness engulfing the room, turning into a dark night sky as the ground hurtled toward me.
I heard a shrill screech of terror, a yelp of surprise, and a "WOOHOO!!!!" of excitement. I just kept my mouth shut, so as to keep my lunch inside my stomach.
