Preview: What makes for a beautiful day? Spending it with Liam Payne, 18, Louis Tomlinson, 20, Niall Horan, 18, Harry Styles, 18, and Zayn Malik, 19. Already a hit overseas, rowdy British-Irish boy band One Direction is dropping it's debut album Up All Night stateside March 20. And you'd better brace yourselves, babes, 'cause their star is going in only one direction-up.
GL: Up All Night is finally hitting the U.S., and we're do excited. Which is your favorite track?
Zayn: "One Thing." There is always someone in your life who has that one thing that you don't really know what it is, but you find them attractive. And you really can't explain it.
GL: So true! What are the biggest things you look for in a girl, then?
Niall: It's different for everyone, actually. I think for me, it's someone who is cute and who I have something in common with.
GL: Which of your songs do you think fans will be the most surprised to hear from you?
Louis: Probably "I Want." It's more of a rockier, edgy kind of sound. A bit less predictable for a boy band, if you know what I mean.
GL: One of your other tracks on the album is "Tell Me A Lie." What's the biggest lie you've ever told a girl?
Louis: We are good boys. We don't tell lies.
GL: Riiight. Well then, how about a lie a girl has told you?
Harry: I was told she was moving away. Then a couple months later, I saw her in the street and was like, "I thought you were moving." She was like, "Oh yeah, I came back." I don't think she really went though.
GL: Eek, neither do we. All of your American fans know you'll be spending time in the U.S. touring with Big Time Rush. Have any pickup lines you might wanna test out while you're here?
Louis: We don't think it's cool to use pickup lines. Maybe just crack a few jokes to break the ice.
GL: Less creepy that way! Anything in particular you wanna do in the States?
Zayn: We got a book about all the weird and wonderful things you can see in America, and apparently there is this giant ball of yarn somewhere. We need to find it.
GL: You met while auditioning solo for UK's X Factor in 2010. Niall, what's one thing you wouldn't want to compete against Liam in?
Niall: Any sport. Liam is very strong. He used to box and swim and do lots of horseback riding.
GL: Harry, what's something you wouldn't want to compete against Zayn in?
Harry: The strongest jaw line and pout competition.
GL: Ha! Louis, what about Harry?
Louis: The world's best hair competition. He has great curly locks.
GL: He sure does. So would you say he takes the longest of the group to get ready?
Liam: Louis takes the longest to get ready. It's all about his hair. Though Harry is definitely the biggest flirt. He's a master.
GL: Who's the biggest klutz?
Liam: I walk into things. I'm a bit dopey. But Niall and Harry have both fallen over during a performance. Harry's is on YouTube.
