Chapter One
Demyan
“Just wait until you see the auditorium, Demyan.” my fourteen year old sister Anya blabbed,” It’s amazing how much it looks like the Globe theater.”
“ Mmmhmmm…..” I said, trying to drown out her annoying speech by flipping open the windows and slamming them back down.
It was bad enough our mom had forced me to spend half my Summer at a college in Russia, crammed in a dorm with both of my irritating sisters, but now I had to deal with having nothing to do but throw airplane peanuts at the guy in front of me and listen to Anya‘s yakking for twelve hours and thirty-five aggravating minutes all because my mom said brining my “ toys“ would “disrupt our educational trip.“ Our mom told me and Anya that going to Russia with our eighteen year old sister ,Leyna, would be a “ fun way for us to learn about our Russian roots.” The only upside of the trip would be that I’d be able to spend three fourths of the year away from school.
“ And I heard an amazing circus is coming to perform in just a few weeks!” She continued.
“ Oh, how exciting! Did you hear that Leyna? The circus is coming! I just hope we can fit Anya into her gorilla cage.” I gushed sarcastically.
Anya stopped talking and punched me in the gut. Naturally, I hit her back. This went on for about five minutes before Leyna kicked our chairs from behind.
“ Shut up. I‘m trying to sleep here.” She grumbled resting her head against our seats.
Anya rolled her eyes and plugged in her little ear buds, drowning herself in music. While I was stuck throwing peanut shells.
By the time the plane landed in Moscow, it was about one A.M in America and eleven A.M in Russian time. As the lights flashed on I grabbed my backpack and shook awake Anya and Leyna. They rubbed the sleep out of their eyes and waited while passengers mumbled things in different languages as they grabbed their bags before exiting the plane.
“ Come on.” I sighed impatiently.
Leyna reluctantly stood up and signaled us to follow her. Packed gates and bright shops greeted us as we entered the airport. I dragged myself up to my sisters as they struggled to carry all of our luggage.
“ Ok, now let’s get out of here. I’m sure the exit is left.” I heard Anya say.
“ It’s my college Anya, let me decide how to get there.” Leyna argued.
I groaned. “ For crying out loud the door is ten feet in front of us.”
Anya glared at me as if to say I knew that. I stuck out my tongue at her in response. Leyna just ignored us and went out the door. We followed close behind. Even during the day it was colder outside then I expected. Beside me, Anya shivered. “ Ley, where’s the shuttle?”
“ It should be out here somewhere.” Leyna looked around trying to find a bus to take us to the Moscow Institute of Performance.
I allowed the cold air blow against my light skin while my sisters searched.
“ There it is.” Anya said finally, pointing to a long rusty red shuttle. We thankfully piled into the old vehicle.
I can’t describe the inside of the bus as anything except disgusting. Some of the old plastic seats held mold and rust growing on them. The dirty floor looked like it could break through any second. And the stench was absolutely indescribable. But if I gave it my best shot to picture the smell, I’d say it was a mix between a stale rat and a moldy cow.
The bus driver looked like he should be eating raccoon meat out of a dumpster: he was overweight, scrawny, hairy except for his head which bore not a single whisker, and his smell matched the bus. The guy wore a dirty blue uniform with a crooked name tag that was printed in letters so small I could barely read, Hi my name is Frank in several different languages The most unappealing thing about him though, was probably the fact that he was fast asleep and drooling like a five year old over chocolate ice cream.
“ Excuse me sir.” Anya said as politely as you can when you’re trying not to breath.
Frank just snorted and continued to sleep. Leyna rolled her eyes and mumbled something I don’t want to repeat. Then she kicked the dude’s seat adjuster, making him slam against the head rest.
“ WAAHHH!” Frank snorted waking up. “ Oh, sorry, Miss.”
“ Yeah, can you just get us to the Moscow Institute of Performance.” I spoke up.
“ That’s my job.” Frank said in a slight accent. “ By the way, I’m Frank.” He held out a greasy hand.
I gave a slight smile and tried to avoid eye contact. He shrugged and we tried to find a seat without some sort of weird fungus. Anya leaned on Leyna for comfort once we found seats and they soon fell asleep. I wasn’t so lucky.
“Tak kto iz vas, deti yavlyaet·sya studentom instituta?” Frank asked as he drove.
“…Excuse me?” I said. The only thing I picked up was deti which sounded like a type of sandwich to me.
“ Sorry, I’m just used to the Russian public. Give me a second to switch back to English.” Frank stopped the bus abruptly and buried his face in his hands. Honking horns and angry drivers accompanied the weird grunting noises he made. I wasn‘t sure if he was trying to be funny or what, but all I could do is stare as he lifted his head and continued to drive.“ Alrighty, what I was sayin was ‘ which one of you kids is the student at the Institute?’
“ O-oh…errm… my sister Leyna. She‘s studying to be a director”
The bus stopped again.
“ Y-your sister’s name is…Leyna?” he asked suddenly nervous.
“ Yes…?” I whispered.
“ Funny. I haven’t heard that name since… never mind.” The bus started again.
I spent the rest of the short trip staring at Frank’s seat and wondering what he had been about to say.
The shuttle lurched to a shaky stop in front of a humongous brick building, waking both my sisters. Usually I’m not a nut for architecture, but I had to admit, Anya was right about the beauty of the structure. Long tower like cylinders rested above the opening of the school. And building was about the size a four football fields. A marble fountain stood in the middle of the perfectly green grounds. A bunch of students flocked around the campus.
Leyna yawned,” Come on guys time to go.”
I carried most of the bags mainly because my sisters forced me to. As I was about to exit, Frank stopped me by shutting the doors.
“ Hey, kid.” he said laying a giant hand on my shoulder and generally making me drop about half the bags.” Watch out for your sister.”
The man stared at me for a minute before opening the doors.
By the time I had gathered all the bags and forced my way out the door, Leyna and Anya were already half way across campus. Leyna pushed open the doors revealing the inside of the college to be more beautiful then the out. Golden armchairs and rugs lay across the room. Mahogany walls fitted with the matching tables and flooring. A silver golden chandelier hung in the center of the room.
After Leyna had asked the receptionist, a blond lady in her late twenties, where our dorm was, we went back outside and struggled to get up to the third floor of the dormitory where our dorm room was.
“ SANCHOEARY!” I shouted as soon as we entered the room. Anya smacked me in the head.
“ Shut up! People can hear you!”
But I wasn’t listening to her, I just threw all the bags into one corner, kicked off my shoes, and fell into bed. Ahh. Bliss.
“ Idiot…” Anya mumbled.
“ Ugh, I don’t care anymore let’s just go to bed already.” Leyna grumbled shutting the door. “ Thank God classes start tomorrow.”
There were two beds in the room. I took one and Leyna and Anya shared the other. After two lawyers, five courthouses, an angry headmaster, and a sixteen chickens ( don’t ask) our mom had finally convinced the school to give my sisters a queen sized bed.
I guess the girls were both to tired to change so they just took off their shoes and settled in for the night ( wouldn‘t it be day?). About five minutes later I heard their snoring, but I couldn’t sleep. Ten minutes.
No sleep.
Twenty minutes.
Nothing.
Thirty minutes.
Not a wink.
Two hours passed and I still lie there wide awake.
It wasn’t like I was trying to stay up. I mean, I was just as exhausted as my sisters. And yet I couldn’t sleep. I opened and closed my eyes over and over like I was trying to flick a switch that would force me to sleep. When it didn’t work, I got up and stood by the window. I guess it just felt weird sleeping when it was still broad daylight outside.
Hey kid. I heard suddenly.
I spun around to see who had spoken. No one was there.
“ Great…” I mumbled.” I’m so tired I’m hearing things.”
Watch out for your sister. I turned around again. This time, a ghostly version of Frank met my eyes.
“ You’ll watch out for your sisters, right?” he said.
Then he faded away.
“ I’m going crazy.” I scolded myself. With that I dove into the covers and woke up.
It was dark out and the once busy campus was now completely empty.
I sat up and saw that Leyna and Anya had already unpacked all of our things. Clothes stuck out of the two dressers next to our beds. Hairbrushes and makeup flocked across the dressing table. Piles of books were stacked on the shelves above the beds.
Leyna was dressed in black skinny jeans, a loose purple and black tang top, matching purple Converse and a long golden necklace with little butterflies on it hung around her neck . Her auburn spiral curls hung loosely around her shoulders and heavy black eye shadow was drawn around her hazel eyes. She was lying on her bed mumbling about how she hated the time change.
Anya sat on the edge of my bed in bleached jeans, a white Abercrombie t-shirt, and old tennis shoes. Her own waist length auburn hair was tied in a pony tail and her blue-green eyes looked equally aggravated at the time change.
I rubbed my eyes drowsily” What’s going on?”
“ It’s four A.M here-” Anya began.
“ And five P.M at home.” Leyna finished.
“ I hate the time change.” They said together.
“ Okay… So can I go back to sleep?” I asked.
“ If you want but it’s better you stay up. My first class is at eight.” Leyna advised.
“ Ok. Good night.”
Anya threw a pillow at my head. “ Get dressed, Lazy Boy.”
I rolled my eyes and quickly changed into a grey t-shirt and jeans.
“ We’re coming to the classes with you, right?” Anya asked after about thirty minutes of silence.
“ That’s what Mom said.” Leyna answered with her head buried in a laptop.
“ NOOOOO!” I shot up from the floor and dropped the left over peanuts I was throwing at the wall. “ I thought we were just coming with you! Not going to classes!”
“ Did you even hear Mom say “’ it’ll be a fun a educational experience for you kids.”’ What do you think your gonna learn about theater arts by running around the school?” Anya taunted me.
“ Be quiet, Anya.” I yelled at her.
“ Stop you guys.” Leyna stepped in.” You’ve been arguing ever since we got here.”
“ You’re right Ley, I’m sowy wittle brother.” Anya gushed, affectionately punching me in the stomach. I gave her a loving tug of the hair. Leyna just laughed at us.
Anya got on the bed next to Lenya. I could see the headlines now: Twelve year old boy dies an early death of bordem from being forced to go to college with his sisters with nothing else to do but throw peanuts at the wall.

Chapter 4: Sunny day
These were the days of peace and happiness.
Days were spent in peace and love.
Jack loved his job, even though he wasn't that patient with children who didn't pay attention on his classes.
But, he knew. He was doing something
important, something useful.
And most of all, he knew that his lovely wife
and beautiful little Gwenny were waiting for him
at home.
Dana was amazing at kitchen.
Jack loved everything she made.
One happy family they were.
Like every morning, Jack would go to work,
and Dana would make a breakfast and some coffee to wake them up.
Morning coffee was something wonderful
for both of them.
After having breakfast, Jack would drink coffee
with Dana, looking at her with the same gentle
and passionate love that never fades.
"I'll see you later, darling." - Jack said and
went to work.
Dana was still sitting and enjoying in the coffee,
watching through the window the sunlight.
She could smell the flowers that were growing
in the yard.

I lied
I lied to them and got caught
I confessed up and told them the truth
but they get more upset
I walk down the dark hallway
into my lonely empty room
I lie on my bed, thinking
I go to move and I can't
I fall down
pain shooting threw me
they walk in
saying I'm faking to make them feel bad
they walk out
leaving me on the ground
crying out in pain
I finally give up
crawl over to the closet
get the gun and cocked it
put it to my temple and pulled the trigger
life...filled with hate
I've chased down all my demons
but it wasn't enough
mistreated,misplaced,misunderstood.
I lied to them and got caught
I confessed up and told them the truth

I walk down the dark hallway

I keep my rhythm
I tap in time,
My music is my world
An angry beat inside.
It can crash like a waterfall
Or gradually trickle down,
It can make you laugh and cry
That powerful sound.
My headphones on my head
The lyrics flowing though,
Filling up my brain
Music is the food I chew.
It can be beautiful, strange
Crazy and cool,
I couldn't live without music
There's a style to suit all.
Music is like a brand new life
Jumping around your mind,
Each instrument that is played
Is an ingredient to find.
There's nothing quite like music
There's nothing quite like me,
You can always find a friend in music
Music will always be.

The city of light was full of marchants and villagers. Elyon stood and gazed at them from the huge silver gate. And gurding the gate was two broad shouldered men, wearing bright white robes, that glowed from every angle.
"Excuse me?" the man with blonde hair asked. When Elyon took a shaky step forward, the men stared shocked at her.
"Elyon? What are you doing outside the city?" The man asked. Elyon took in a deep sharp breath and took another shaky step forward. She still hadnt noticed that the vilagers were watching silently.
"Elyon...my name is..?she smiled and fell into the darknes, fainted. The two gaurds rushed to her aid, and the vilagers erupted into a panicky uproar
"Quick take her to Lady Alexsis!" the man with darker ahir nodded, picked up Elyon and disapered.
"Leo? What the hell is going on? This is a bad sign," an old man closest to the alone guard asked.
"I dont know," he muttered looking up at the castle of light, "i really dont know,".
