Chapter 3
Now, Serenity on a happier note was learning how to defend herself and about Exorcism she wanted to help Father Bartholomew, even though she was forced by the church to conform to the earthly practices like everyone else and to hide her wings, Father Bartholomew encouraged her heavenly attributes, he made wings, of feathers, waxed together, they were perfect, and everyday, he would teach her to fly as she forgot how because of the number of years that she spent conforming to the earth. Father Bartholomew raised Serenity like a daughter, a few years later, when she had turned five years of age something terrible and tragic struck, the devil had sent an army of his minions, vampires, he called them, men and women who have pledged their loyalty to that of the devil in return for his favour in the form of lucre or other worldly possessions, anything that they want, pray do not be fooled by the devil’s generosity for in return you would have to suffer a fate worst than death if you ask me or at least they did, vampirism, these creatures feed off the blood of others, the thirst some call it, you may think well these creatures don’t exist, well you’re right they don’t, but they did in Serenity’s time.
Now Father Bartholomew was not aware of this but was cautious all the same, fearing for the sake of Serenity, painstakingly hid her, gave her holy water, two sacred crucifixes, garlic, a note, and a sacred necklace that he owned, he did this because he heard a knock on the church doors. After he had done the latter, he proceeded to say a prayer outside of the room Serenity was in and then, opened the doors of the church. As Father Bartholomew opened the doors, Serenity explored the room in which she was put, she found a cloak and a sack, and she put on the cloak, put the things which Father Bartholomew gave to her, and hung the necklace which her, surrogate father gave to her around her neck, then found a peephole through which she observed her situation and Father Bartholomew’s, there were seven cloaked people of whose faces could not be seen. “What is your purpose here?” asked Father Bartholomew, of the strangers, “We have sinned Father, we’ve sinned a lot and we’re here to confess”, Father Bartholomew suspicious of an ulterior motive said, “Well, confess children for the Lord forgiveth sinners”, the seven laughed maliciously, “Why don’t you let us in and make this a little more confidential”, “I’ll have to refuse my children, for I have more urgent matters to attend to.
At these words, Father Bartholomew made movements to close the doors when one of the strangers lunged forward and in so doing his hood fell, revealing long, lethal fangs. There was a scream of pain, a flash of fangs and a spurt of blood, Father Bartholomew was dead! Or was he? Serenity let out a gasp of pain and sorrow for Father Bartholomew, but unfortunately this did not escape the notice of the seven strangers. “This is it,” she thought, but to her surprise she saw that the strangers could not reach the door, it was like an invisible barrier was protecting her. To her delight Father Bartholomew had saved her, he had sprinkled holy water and garlic near to the door and soon all the strangers screamed and burst in to flame before her very eyes. Serenity knew that whilst she was here no harm could befall her but she needed to get away because she did not know what was going on but something told her to move from her current hiding spot. Even though Serenity was only five, she had a complete knowledge of the church and its secret passageways but she didn’t use any of them. The little voice in her head told her to use the secret passageways to get out but instead she rushed to the side of her beloved Father Bartholomew.

I thought it would be a good idea to try and write goodbye
but i was stuck when I realized there were too many lovely things to write about.
and not enough words invented yet to say them aloud.
and i know there are a number of things wrong with this,
but i really don't want to fix it right now.
i don't feel like doing anything but sitting upside down
but trust me, when it comes down
to having the choice of being right..
or protecting you, I'll be wrong every single time.
Because it's just who I am...
