Nick looked around. "Hmmm. How 'bout we play the Wii. I bet I can bet you." I smiled. "You're on!" We played bowling and he beat me. We played golf and I beat him. My mom came in. "Karleigh, come here for a minute." "Coming." I yelled. "Nick, just keep playing. You can take my turns if you need to." "Mmhmm." I walked into the kitchen. "I'm taking you and your sisters to the movies. We are going to see Toys Story 3!" "Yay." I said lamely. I walked away. "What was that all about?" Nick asked. "My mom wants to take me and the girls to go see Toys Story 3. I-" Nick interrupted. "I wanna go see that." "Oh. I heard it was funny." I looked to the kitchen window. Crap! It was open. "Nick?" My mom asked.
"Yes, Chris?" No. Please, mom, no. "Would you like to come with us?" Nick smiled. "Sure. I'll go ask my mom. When are we going?" Pat answered. "4:00." Nick and I went over to his house. "Mom?" He asked walking in. "Yes?" "Um, Lori, my mom wanted to know if Nick was allowd to go to the movies with us?" She looked at us. "Yeah. Sure."
Before we left I warned Nick to bring a jacket because it gets cold there. But no he doesn't listen. As we were driving my mom turned around. "Karleigh, do you mind if me and Pat go to some stores while you guys see the movie?" Yes I mind. "No. Not at all." Wait no. I don't want to be in the theater alone with Nick! "Is it alright with you, Nick?" My mom asked. "Yeah, it's cool."
My mom and Pat came inside and bought our tickets for us. Then we went and sat in the theater. We sat all the way in the back and we sat: Kaitlyn, then me, then Nick, then Kelsey. Great right next to Nick. My heart pounded against my ribs really fast and hard. "Psst." Nick whipered. "Can I borrow your jacket 'cause your not using it?" I looked at my blue flowered jacket. "Sure." I whispered as I handed it to him. I warned him earlier.
Nick and I laughed during the movie. When the movie ended we stood up and went outside and waited for my parents. "That was fun. How 'bout we play DDR when we get home?" I looked out my window. "S-sure." I stuttered. When we pulled infront of my trailer I hopped out and grabbed my bike. "Nick, Did you notice how this will look?" I asked while riding my bike. "Notice what?" I giggled. "How we were both gone at the same time. Not at your house nor mine. And we just so happened to pull up infront of my trailer and you come out. People will ask questions. They'll assume we are dating." I pretended to shiver. We parked our bikes.
"So,Karleigh, how was your date with Nick?" I turned in time to see...
"Yes, Chris?" No. Please, mom, no. "Would you like to come with us?" Nick smiled. "Sure. I'll go ask my mom. When are we going?" Pat answered. "4:00." Nick and I went over to his house. "Mom?" Lonely Girl
So peaceful in sleep she lies
Brown hair spilled across her pillow
I can picture her beautiful eyes
Looking into her dreams…
She looks like she’s not listening
But really she’s deep in thought
Remembering forgotten memories
When she lived life as she ought
Stolen kisses in the night
Laughing with her friends
Little did she know back then
This is where it all would end
Her heart is filled with regret
Always looking back
She wishes she would just forget
And find happiness once more
I don’t think she’ll ever forget you
But for now there’s joy on her face
She keeps reminding herself
It’s not a race, to be the first to find your place
Now as the sun goes down
She’ll say a prayer
Wishing perhaps for you
But really, life’s not that fair
There’s nothing this Lonely Girl can do
So peaceful in sleep she lies
Brown hair spilled across her pillow
I can picture her beautiful eyes
Looking into her dreams…
She looks like she’s not listening
But really she’s deep in thought
Remembering forgotten memories
When she lived life as she ought
Stolen kisses in the night
Laughing with her friends
Little did she know back then

Always looking back

If you've learnt British English and you're travelling in the States,or if you've learnt American English and you're travelling in Britain, you'll notice some differences. An obvious difference is the accent, but most travellers find that they don't have too many problems with this. There are some grammatical differences, but they shoudn't make it difficult to understand people,or to communicate. That leaves differences in vocabulary, which can cause misunderstandings.Sometimes the difference is only the spelling, for example,in British English 'center','colour',and 'travelled',and in American English 'centre','color',and 'traveled'.But sometimes the word is completely different in British and American English, and it's good idea to be prepared.
