Critical Analysis of Twilight
answer this question
Critical Analysis of Twilight Question
What turned you against Twilight? (Or if you're still a Twilight fan, what do you dislike about anything Twilight-related?)
Surprisingly, I was a Twilight fan at first. I really liked it, it was something new in my life, and I needed something new. I was NEVER a Twihard, I cannot stand fans like that for any movie/show/book/etc. I was just greatly interested in it, and it was enjoyable talking to fellow fans about it. At first...I'm not sure what happened. I think I needed something different in my life so desperately, and Meyer's writing style was unique to what I had read before. NOT UNIQUE AS IN SHE IS A GOOD WRITER. I know she is a terrible author, being somewhat of an author myself. Her writing was unique to what I had been writing before I came across Twilight, and it intrigued me. And at first I really liked it, thought it was good.
But I know now it was because she wrote differently, I was a little delusional and riding on the high that had come in the beginning, after the movie had come out. If it had stayed that way, I may be an average fan. Without all of the bs. But then what really killed it, and still infuriates me, are the fans that this series has spawned. THOSE fans. The astoundingly immature people who live with their heads in the clouds hoping one day that they could meet a "great" undead guy like Edward. The ones who think they like vampires because they like Twilight. Because of the "sparkly" vampires. *Snort* Then, with all of these incredibly stupid people around, who in a way were my kin (*Shudder*), I wondered. I came upon this site, and everything said fascinated me. I liked it WAY better than being a supposed Twilight fan. So I decided to follow my heart. And my freaking brain. I am so ashamed that I was caught up in that mess, for even a moment...I finally realized...it's really not all that great. At all.
So yes. I have come back to my senses. I am sorry if I offended any Twilight fans; I think it's not a worthwhile series to be interested in but if you like it I respect that. :) You know full well what kind of Twilight fan I'm talking about. I know you
