"Really?" Private asked, looking astonished. Emma nodded, a feeling of devastation sweeping over her.
"How is that possible?" Kowalski wondered, looking at Emma with concern.
"It- it must have been when I brought you two back to life, this massive ball of light came out of me, and part of it went into you two." Emma guessed, then a thought struck her. "You two don't have them do you?"
"Nope." Private answered, and Kowalski shook his head. Emma felt confused and lost. She quickly wiped a tear from her eye.
"Guys, could I be alone for a bit please." She asked quietly. They nodded in understanding and left Emma alone with her thoughts. She sat in her bunk for hours just thinking about what happened. As the darkness began to fall outside, she thought of something.
I'd rather not have my powers for the rest of my life, than watch my friends die. I did the right thing, and I should be happy. She thought looking over at them and smiled. She got up, and sat down beside them.
"Hey Em." Kowalski greeted, a little shyly.
"Are you ok now?" Private asked.
"Well it's really strange without them but i'll get used to it over time." Emma answered. "Anyway it was worth it, because your both still alive." She finished, hugging them both. As a habit she tried to bring the remote over to her with her mind, before remembering what happened. She got up and picked it up, not very pleased that she had to move. Skipper watched with a bit of amusement, and Rico tried not to smile. Emma gave them a dark look, and sat down beside Kowalski and Private, and turned the Tv on. She eventually settled on watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars. After a few hours of sitting there contently, she thought about her drawstring bag, and instinctively tried to bring it over with her mind. To her astonishment, it whizzed over to her, and landed in her flipper.
"W- what the...?" She began, her eyes widening. She looked up at a mug, and tried to bring it over to herself, but that didn't move. The team was looking at her in confusion, and honestly she didn't blame them. She looked at the bag again and it levitated out of her flippers.
"It seems like you can still use your abilities on the bag, and nothing else." Kowalski stated, looking surprised. Emma just nodded, not being able to manage words.
"Emma can I talk to you for a second?" Skipper asked, nodding his head towards the lab. Emma followed him in.
"What's up?" Emma asked curiously. Skipper looked at the bag, and back at Emma.
"There's a diary somewhere in the bag, that's been passed down through the female members of the family for centuries along with the bag." Skipper began. "I think you should read it."
"Why?" Emma said questioningly.
"Because your not the first person in the family to have powers." Skipper explained.
"How do you know this, if it's passed down through the female members?" Emma asked suspiciously.
"I was really nosy when I was little, ad I had a look at it when you were asleep." Skipper explained sheepishly. Emma didn't comment on that, and she walked back into the main bit of the HQ, and sat down again.
I'll take a look a it tonight, I don't think I'll get any sleep anyway, after what we've all been through, heck, I killed someone, and I'm only 10. Emma thought. She glanced at the clock, which read 12am, so she headed for her bunk, giving everyone a hug, and calling out her goodnights. She overheard Skipper saying that they would go to bed too. As she got into her bunk, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Kowalski there.
"Hey Kowalski, what's up?" Emma asked, smiling up at him.
"I was thinking, even though I don't really believe in the stuff, maybe you'd feel better if you had a dream catcher in your bunk." Kowalski began holding a turquoise one up. Emma looked at it in interest. "It might keep the nightmares away." He added smiling a little shyly. Emma smiled back and gave him a hug.
"Thanks Kowalski." She said, taking the dream catcher and putting it in the bottom right hand corner of her bunk.
"Anytime Em." Kowalski replied, blushing a bit. He got into his bunk, just as the others were. Skipper turned the lights off, and Emma kept a little light on so she could read the diary. She took it out of the bag and looked at it curiously. It had a dark blue cover, and was extremely thick. She realised that it was spelled, to fit more pages than you'd expect to fit it. She went to the last entry, which was on page 9500. She went to the front and started reading.
To my dear descendants,
my name is Charlotte Christine Swift (formerly Charlotte Christine Lilly) and I'm the maker of this journal which I want to be passed down though all the females in our family. I have these strange abilities which allow me to move things without touching them, and let me read other peoples thoughts. Only my family can know, unless the village think I'm a witch. The year is 1106 AD. I'm 16 years old, and I wonder if all of the family from now on will have these powers, or will I be the only one? Anyway this diary is for you to put in all of your deepest thoughts and feelings. If I give birth to a baby girl when I'm a little older, I will pass this down to her, and I hope you will all do the same. I hope you will all draw a little picture of yourselves too, so future generations will know what you look like. I hope you treasure this journal well and care for it.
Charlotte.
Emma looked at the drawing below this, and saw a female penguin with black and grey feathers, She had long black hair with shades of blue dotted in it, along with a grey beak, and feet, and midnight blue, oval shaped eyes. She also had the famous tuft of feathers on her chest that all the female members of the family had. Emma smiled at the picture, and read on. Charlotte was a lot like her, she love he outside, she loved music, and art, and she loved the stars, or twinkling lights, as Charlotte called them. She found a later entry where Charlotte explained that she had just had a vision of who the next child with powers would be. Apparently her birth name would be Eleanor Louise Brown. Emma read on for hours, and eventually found Eleanor's first entry, in the year 1424 (when Eleanor was 10). Eleanor had drew a picture of herself too, and she looked quite a bit like herself. Her hair was jet black, but a little less spiky than Emma's, she had a ponytail with one blue streak, held up by a yellow bobble. She had dark blue eyes, and a dark blue necklace, and yellow beak and feet. Again, she had the tuft of chest feathers sticking out. She read on and she found that Eleanor was almost like her double, she was non-religious (well according to all of the entry's the whole family was) she loved the stars, and she wanted to go to the moon, she adored nature, and she was quite lazy. Emma found herself more connected to Eleanor than the rest of them. As she read on she found a later entry from the year 1436.
Dear diary,
Tomorrow I get married to my kind boyfriend, Kyle Rose, and we are expecting a child. Also today, I had a vision of who the next powerful child would be, apparently, she will be born, Emma Louise Wayte. She has the same middle name as me, which I think is lovely. I've prepared a little letter for her which I hope she will get to read.
Emma looked at the next bit with excitement and curiousity.
Dearest Emma,
I don't know how old you will be when you read these words, but I hope you know that your abilities are extremely special, and that you don't take them for granted. I did, and I lost mine last year, saving my mothers life, I miss them dearly, but it was worth the sacrifice. If you have lost yours somehow, I want you to know that you will eventually get over it, and you realise that the power of love, and family, is the most precious thing of all. I really wish I could know you in person, but my vision says you won't be born for another 562 years. I hope you grow up surrounded by love and kindness, and I'm sure you will be a beautiful person. Treasure your gifts, and this journal (and the bag) because even if you lose your abilities, you can still use them on this. I know I'll never get a chance to know you, but my soul is telling me that you'll be a kind person, and you'll use your powers for good, so I am proud of you.
Love Eleanor. x
Emma wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at the book lovingly. She wish she got to know Eleanor, but that was virtually impossible. She read on a bit more, and found entries from people she knew like her Great Nan, her Nan, and even her Mum. Emma came to the end, and was pleased that she was a fast reader. She saw the empty page, and got her pencil out and began to write in about her self, things that had happened and the people she cared about. She stuck in a picture of herself, and then drew one too. (Because of the tradition.) She also put a few pictures of her family in, and Private, and Kowalski. She glanced at the time, and realised it was 2:45am. She put the diary down, and snuggled into her blanket, feeling content and happy. She then fell into a blissful, nightmare free sleep.
"How is that possible?" Kowalski wondered, looking at Emma with concern.
"It- it must have been when I brought you two back to life, this massive ball of light came out of me, and part of it went into you two." Emma guessed, then a thought struck her. "You two don't have them do you?"

"Eurika! It's done!" kowalski burst out the lab with a small box in hand. Attached to the box was a long string with a helmet on the end.
"skipper?" e called.
Silence.
"skipper, rico, private where are you guys?"
More silence.
Kowalski ran to Marlene's place.
"Marlene have you seen skipper?" kowalski panted as he chocked out his words.
"yeah, I saw them being carried off by some big animals." she answered.
"and amber?"
"I last saw her with that new guy. I dot know what happened to her-"
Kowalski left before she could finish the sentance.
Kowalski searched the entire park, the whole city, and just about all of manhattan.
Nothing.
He searched via radio waves, radar, Nd a lot of other things.
Still nothing.
He worried for hours.
Until he realized exactly what happened, and who done it.
