"Sofie?" I quickly hid the notebook under my bed as Izzy walked through the door. "Why didn't you come down for dinner?" I sighed "Uh, no reason." Izzy didn't believe me for one second. "Sofie, we're best friends, you can tell me anything." She sat on my bed and waited for my response. I gave her a mad face. "NOTHING!" I grabbed my iPod, plugged it into my radio, and turned up the volume all the way, playing a weird song to block out anyone's voice.

"U-N-I-C-O-R-N! U-N-I-C-O-R-N!" I sang at the top of my lungs. "Shut up!" I heard a pounding on the wall next to me, and Heather and Courtney's booming voices. I turned off my iPod and plopped onto my bed. "I... I want Duncan to love me again..." I finally said. Izzy smiled and put her hand on my face. "He still DOES love you." "No!" I burst out crying and pushed her hand away. She gasped and ran out the door. I watched her leave and cried some more. Great job Sofie! You pushed away your only friend! I told myself. Soon I heard more foot steps. I wiped my face and looked into the doorway. Izzy walked in first, then held the door open and Duncan walked in after her. My eyes got wide and I let out a breath I had been keeping on my throat. Izzy gave Duncan a hard, sad look, then walked out. Duncan walked over quietly and sat on my bed. I scooted away from him and buried my face in a pillow. Duncan put his hand on me. "Sofie," He said. I looked up from the pillow and tried to wipe the sad anime face I was wearing off. "Izzy was right, I STILL love you." "NO! YOU YOU DON'T DUNCAN PAYNE!" I shouted. "YES, I do." "Then why the hell did you break up with me?!" I screamed. His eyes grew wide. "What?!" He got up. "I didn't break up with you!" "Yes you did! Courtney gave me a note saying that--" I stopped and my brain shafts started turning. "THAT BITCH!" I stomped out of the room and raced down the hallway to Courtney's dorm. Duncan ran after me and held me back. He slid across the floor with my force, then just picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. He carried me back to my room and sat me on my bed again. "It's alright now..." He said and we talked in the darkness of the night. The moon was the only light as we sat close together smiling. At one point on the conversation, I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up with the gentle morning light creeping through the windows. I got up and I note fell from my chest. I picked it up and read it;
Dear Sofie,
I love you, first of all. Courtney was wrong, and I just wanted to set things straight that I DID NOT break up with you. I came to this collage because Geoff told me you'd be here... last night while you were asleep, I checked out of the school and now have a new house of my own about 200 m from where your standing. If you'd like, you can come here to live with me... if not, please, call and tell me.

I held the note close to my heart and put it on the table. I picked up my cell phone and dialed his number. It rang three times, then I heard; "Sofie, I understand you don't want to leave Izzy--" "I'm coming with you." I told him firmly. There was a long silence. "...Thank you, Sofie."
