Maplestar stepped out of his den, it was just after dawn and the patrols had just left. The snow had finally fallen the night before, it was just enough to cover his paws.
    A movement caught Maplestar's eye, he turned to see what it was and caught a flash of a black-and-orange pelt skirting the camp wall. Probably just an apprentice trying to get out of hunting duty. He thought sighing. He trotted over to the cat.
    “Hey, what are you-” this cat didn't smell familiar.
    “Good morning!” A scarred orange-and-black face starred at him, the she-cat was small and looked young, but had the scars of an experienced
warrior.
    “Uh... Excuse me, who are you, and what are you doing in the ShadowClan camp?”
    She starred at him admirably, her eyes were gray, but not like his, they were slightly green. “My name's Kitty!”
    “Uh... Kitty, what are you doing here?”
    “Well, I just came to meet my big brother.” she meowed innocently.
    “Alright,” Maplestar's first reaction was to be angry, it sounded like she was accusing a ShadowClan warrior of being disloyal, but he remained calm and kept his fur flat, he had to act like the leader he had been for moons, not like an angry apprentice, “so who is your brother?”
    “Well, I haven't met him yet,” Kitty meowed as she stepped out of the shadows, “but I've heard so much about him.” The way she was looking at him said her words meant more than she said. “Let me tell you some of my story.”
    Maplestar didn't want to listen, he didn't want this cat to be here, but he saw his kits starring at him and this strange cat, he didn't want to frighten them by fighting her or threatening her. “Fine,” he sighed, “follow me.” He led her to his den and had her sit near his nest while he sat in it, “You may tell me what you like.”
    “Well, my mother was scared that I would be killed by her two-legs, er- uh, housefolk, wait, you're not a kittypet, so ya, two-legs-”
    “Keep going.” Maplestar interupted.
    “Oh, right. So my mother gave me to a cat who lived close to her and had recently had her own litter, she was named Angel. Angel raised me like I was her own daughter, and she let me visit my mother, Honey, any time I wanted to. Honey told me about her son named Maple, an orange cat with gray eyes and a maple leaf marking.” Maplestar wanted to interrupt, but he kept his mouth shut. “One day, some new two-legs came and took one of Angel's sons, she'd told us that we would all get our own housefolk. I didn't like that, so I ran away. I asked every cat I could about Maple, I learned a lot about him, that he's brave and strong, and that he's a warrior. That sounded great, I had to meet this cat!
    “So one day, I found these warrior cats, I asked them about Maple, they said he was Maplestar now, and he's ShadowClan's leader! I just couldn't stop now, I had to find my brother! So they brought me to the 'ShadowClan border' and I just wandered all night until I found this place and waited in a tree till I saw a cat who looked exactly like they described my brother!”
    “So you just want to meet your brother?” Maplestar asked.
     “Well, not just that,” Kitty meowed, “I want to be a warrior with you! Please Maplestar!”
    So she does realize who I am. Maplestar thought, “Well, you trespassed on my territory and invaded my camp-”
    “But you're my brother!”
    “But you've obviously been searching for me for a long time, I suppose I can appoint you a mentor later today.”
    “Oh, thank you brother! I-”
    “But, you have to promise to do what your mentor and I tell you, and stay loyal to ShadowClan, and adopt a clan name.”
    “Oh, yes brother I promise! You wont regret this!” Kitty bounced out of the den like a kit and danced around the clearing before introducing herself to Flamekit and Darkkit, and then wrestled with them.
    Maplestar sighed, “StarClan, let this be a good idea.”
