So I wanted to rank my favorite animation in the films, but I find it hard comparing hand-drawn and CGI since they're so different, so I just decided to make one for hand-drawn. I think all of the Disney films have amazing animation and each film has a unique animation that really makes the film special. So, let's get started!

9. Beauty and the Beast

WHAT?!?! Yes, Beauty and the Beast is last. It was really tough deciding between my ninth, eighth, and seventh place, but I ultimately went with BatB as last. Yes, some scenes are extremely beautiful (the ballroom scene), but the rest of the animation is just average, with some parts being inconsistent and sloppy. Belle has the most inconsistent face between all the princesses, and I just don't find the animation to special. I do love the use of colors in the opening sequence, and the ballroom scene is one of Disney's best, but ultimately it's my last.

8. Aladdin

My bottom three are all basically tied, and although I do feel that the good moments in Aladdin match up to the good moments in BatB, I actually like that the movie has a unique style to it. It's a bit cartoony, but it sticks true to itself the entire movie and actually looks pretty beautiful the entire time. There's nothing too spectacular about it, but there aren't any eye-sores either, so Aladdin stays at eighth.

7. The Little Mermaid

The animation in this movie doesn't wow me. They had so much potential to this movie, and while underwater looks nice, it doesn't make me go "wow." Underwater is pretty dark, although it is very detailed. The way her hair was animated underwater is definitely a milestone, and something that must've took a long time to master. When it comes on land, it's just less detailed and still doesn't have a wow factor. While the animation is still cartoony, it's less so than Aladdin, and "Part of Your World" really saves it from being last, due to the shadows on her face, the detail of the background, and the fluid animation of her swimming around.

6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

This is where the list starts getting tough. I really love the animation here, and the fact that it was made 75 years ago still boggles me, though I'm trying not to let age matter while making this list. I really love the look to the animation. It's simplistic yet detailed, and it has the look to it that makes it actually look like what the name of the animation is "hand-drawn." The hand-drawn look to it makes the movie seem more authentic, and you can see the hard work put into it. Although, there are a lot of weird moments and inconsistencies, keeping it from entering the top 5.

5. Mulan

I really love the animation in Mulan. Places five, four, and three on my list are also basically tied. I love the water-color backgrounds they did. It really makes the characters pop on screen. The scene with the avalanche is absolutely stunning, as well as the scene in the city after Mulan defeats Shan-Yu. I don't really see any faults to the movie's animation; it looks fluid, little to no inconsistencies, and just all around nice animation. (Sorry that I don't have too much to say, to be honest I don't spend too much time paying attention to animation in movies so it's a bit hard for me to describe it.)

4. The Princess and the Frog

This movie is beautiful. The colors, the details, it's all just very nice. Like Mulan, I see no inconsistencies, nice backgrounds, and beautiful colors. The one fault I find with it, is that at points it can get a bit cartoony, mainly Louis and a couple of the towns-people at the ball. Also, it doesn't have a "wow" moment that leaves a big impression on me. I love the bold choices they made in this movie though, like "Almost There" and "Friends on the Other Side." Both were unique styles that I hadn't seen before, and used really nice colors.

3. Cinderella

Something about older animation just looks so beautiful to me. It's not flashy, it's not the most detailed, but it just looks so, nice. I don't know what exactly the charm is to Cinderella, but one thing has to be the Dress Transformation Scene, which if you watch in slow-motion really is spectacular. The movie's animation is very calming, consistent, and has nice little things that really make me love it. Another standout scene for me is "So This Is Love" because not only is it my all time favorite Disney love song, I also think the animation is beautiful. I love how she touches the water and everything. Ugh, this movie is just so beautiful and I wish I could describe it better.

2. Pocahontas

Pocahontas is far and away the best animation of the Disney Princess Renaissance movies. The colors used are so unique and breath-taking that it really leaves a lasting impression. the animation is consistent, and there isn't one moment in the movie where I'm not wowed by the animation. I love the animation used in "Colors of the Wind" and "Savages Part 2" since both use interesting colors and show interesting techniques. I really love the animation of this movie, but it can't beat my number one.

1. Sleeping Beauty

SLEEPING BEAUTY! Could it be anything else? The animation is Disney's best. Some call it inconsistent, drab, and dark, but I just can't see it. Yes there's an inconsistency with hair color and eye color, but really if you just look at the backgrounds, they're so beautiful. Especially in the forest scene, where the dancing is fluid, and it just has so much detail. The animation in this movie really has a "wow" factor for me which I don't think any other movie has matched. I love the interesting animation they did at the beginning on the day of Aurora's birth, and I just love every single moment of the animation in this movie, and think that this movie has a level of detail that can never be matched.

So that's my list! Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It's been such a great year with you guys and I'm looking forward to several more to come. :)

I just wanted to write a quick, short and sweet article on what i love about each DP the most. Even though while ranking, some DPs end up being at lower end, I have never hated any DP and loved them all for different reason. So, I'm just going to write about what stands out the most to me for each DP.

1. Snow White:
Even though she's low on my personal list, I adore how she's so upbeat about life in general. Even if life knocks her down, she gets right back up and has strength to make it work from the scratch. I mean she's got to be sacred from inside but she put on her best attitude and get...

Just wanted to add in more songs, but anyway hope you'll like this article :)

link - Axwell Ingrosso
When I first heard this song I instantly thought of Snow White, it's mainly the happy feeling of the song that makes me think of her

link - Nightwish
I don't know exactly why, but this one makes me think of Snow White a lot, at first I thought this one suited Aurora and Belle the best, but the fast speed of it made me think of Snow White instead, seriously this one could suit pretty well into the Silly Song scene. This one could also suit Rapunzel quite well in that sense, but it has a more classic...

Mulan was happy to go back to school the next day. She knew for sure how well she did on all of her exams.

She walked down the hallway, talking with Jasmine again.

"Well, you seem much happier today," Jasmine said to her.

"I am," Mulan replied, "I'm sure I got a perfect score on all of the exams. I'm positive!"

"Well, you seem really confident," Jasmine replied back.

"I am," Mulan said.

Then a thought came to Mulan's head.

"Where has Aurora been? She's been gone for a while."

"I don't know. Did you try calling her?"

"She doesn't pick up. Hm. Well anyways, I'm going to class, bye."

"Goodbye." And...

Mulan was still struggling in school. She couldn't manage to bring home any good grades, at all. Her parents had told her that she needed to bring her grades up.

Meanwhile, Snow White had just escaped from the woman, when she ran straight into Mulan when walking down the street.

"Whoops! Sorry!" Snow White said, apologizing about this to Mulan.

"Oh, it's fine!" Mulan replied to her, "I didn't see you coming."

"You look really stressed. Are you okay?" Snow White asked her.

How could she know that I'm upset? Mulan wondered to herself.

"Oh, yeah. It's no big deal though, don't worry."

"Are you sure?...

"Okay, so where do they keep the security camera footage?" Belle asked Ariel.

"They keep them on the top floor of the hospital, I think." Ariel responded to her.

"Wow, that's a long trip. How are we going to make it without people catching us?"

"I don't know, but I'm positive that we can pull it off. Are you worried?"

"Well, yeah. What would happen if they catch us?"

"I don't know. We're hospital patients, they pity us. Right?"

"I don't want to use pity as an excuse."

"Ugh, let's just go."

"Okay, fine."

The two set off, walking slowly and carefully.

"Okay, we have to go up four floors to get there."...

Part 1:link

I quickly put my gloves back on and sat on my window railing. My face was cold and my blonde hair was up in a ponytail. The wind blew against my face, but I didn’t care. I wanted to tell Anna about my powers, but not more than I wanted to protect her. The outdoors was a slate of nothingness. Not one person in sight, and the moon glowed brighter than the stars. I got some paper and drew. When drawing, I improvised a lot, but tonight I drew exactly what I see. That’s how I wanted people to see me: exactly how I look. I hate having everything locked up. I stared back out into the...

Belle was walking home from school. Another perfect day for her- everything was always perfect for her. No enemies or bullies, no horrible teachers, no hard classes, nothing was a trouble for her. Ever.

She walked down the street, people greeting her, telling her to have a nice day.

Wonderful day as usual. Belle thought to herself. Well, I have studies to get to, I might as well get home.

She walked home, went inside, yelled to see if her father was home yet, I guess they're not and started to work on homework that she had that day.

"Okay so-" Belle started to say, until the lights oddly dimmed....
