Hey everyone, I know I have written one of these before, but I made it way too short and simple and I made it back when I first joined and since then so many new people joined so I wanted to make an improved one. I hope you guys like it!
Name: Aliyah
I am happy that I got a name that is unique but easy to pronounce for people that don't have the Arab accent. I guess I'm pretty happy with my name.
Age: 18
Just graduated from high school last year. My birthday is on April fools day, which is pretty cool, but people didn't use that the right way
Nationality: Jordanian American
I am one of the few active people here that are Arab. I was born here though. I still act kind middle eastern though, or at least I think so.
Where I live: I live in Utah, very close to Salt Lake City. Utah is kind of boring sometimes, but I guess it's pretty cool. We don't have too many Muslims here, but whatever.
Religion: Islam
One of the few Muslims here and very happy to be a Muslim:)
Education:
Up until seventh grade I went to regular schools but to be honest, I was so bored! The problem wasn't that I was like any ordinary kid who just thought work was boring. I wanted a challenge. I was always the smartest person in the class and way above my grade level in everything but unfortunately I had to stay with the rest of the class. I got so annoyed because school was way too easy for me, so in the middle of seventh grade I was taken to a school for gifted kids. I felt right at home there, it was not at all your typical school. I was surrounded by tons of open minded and very smart people there just like me. It used classroom style and everything but it was different with the cirriculum and the way things were taught. I graduated from that school, also did PSEO and now I am trying to get a degree in communication.
My favorite subjects in school: History/Politics and Writing
I always loved anything very political and historical stuff. It's just always so interesting! I love history so much! My favorite things to learn about are Communism, The russian revolution, The American revolution, the civil rights movement, the Louisiana purchase, their is too much to name! I also love writing! I love writing persuasive essays, and poems.
Hobbies: Singing, acting, public speaking, debating, writing, drawing, listening to music.
Some things I really love: Anime, W.I.T.C.H, Old Barbie, Miyazaki movies, Russian history, old music, Harry Potter, Lord of the rings, Shakespeare, Malcolm X, Percy Jackson.
My favorite music: Anything 80s and 90s really and anything that sounds theatrical and more broadway style. I seriously HATE music nowadays. It just sounds like something went terribly wrong. Like the singer died and is trying to recover. I can't stand how the singers try to add that dramatic effect in their singing by doing this thing with their throat that I just really can't stand! Back then, music was not all about love and the singers were talented! I wish people nowadays can be more like Phill Collins or like Bette Midler because they were and still are AMAZING. Same thing with Arabic music. It was beautiful back then, now it is terrible! Horrendous! Now we just have some not so talented women goofing off all the time in their music videos. Back then, Arab music was just plain gorgeous.
My favorite Books: W.I.T.C.H, Yotsuba, Naruto, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Shakespeare tragedies, and the autobiography of Malcolm X.
My favorite foods:
Uh... Can we skip this question? This is way too hard to decide. Basically a bunch of Arabic food and Pizza.
My favorite Disney films: Mulan, HOND, BATB, TLK, TLK 2, Tarzan, Pocahontas, Oliver and company, The great mouse detective, Lady and the tramp 2. Peter pan 2, The Black Cauldron, basically a bunch of sequels and renassiance films.
Disney Films I can't stand: Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, The Sword in the stone, Hercules, Mulan 2, Pocahontas 2, BATB 3, and Peter Pan.
Movies I like besides Disney: Jumanji, Thumbelina, The Swan Princess, Anastasia, Miyazaki movies, Kung fu panda, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Harry Potter, Old Barbie
My favorite TV shows: W.I.T.C.H, Timon and Pumbaa, Chopped, Naruto, Pokemon, Old Spongebob, Lilo and Stitch, The three stooges, their are too many to name.
Well, I hope you guys liked it and got to know me better. Thanks for reading this!
Oh, I forget to do one more thing.
