This is another Mary Sue test. I decided to do Elsa after Anna. I think she's accused of being a Mary Sue more (though neither of them are accused much).

Unique traits without contacts or hair dye- Platinum blonde hair isn't super common, though it can be explained by her ice powers (but it isn't made clear that's the explanation like with Rapunzel). .5
An odd name- No. 'Elsa' isn't that odd of a name.
Looks constantly commented on- No. I can't remember Elsa's looks being commented on much.
Always the hero- No. I can't remember her saving anyone aside from herself.
Multiple characters falling for her- Definitely not. She's one of the single princesses, and unlike Merida, she didn't even have anyone wanting to be with her.
Gets into the relationships she wants- Nope. Romantically, at least.
No flaws or any flaws addressed or called out on- No. Anna calls her out for shutting people out, and it's shown what a negative impact it has on her life.
Seen as perfect/angelic in everyone's eyes- Definitely not. Most people fear her and see her as dangerous and mysterious.
Always loved and trusted without earning it- Only by Anna, and only because it's in her character. Everyone else does the opposite.
Love and trust from closed-off characters- No. She's a closed-off character herself, and the only other one in the film is Kristoff, who she never interacts with.
Other characters degraded for her sake- Not as far as I can remember. She degrades Anna for being overly trusting, but it isn't to make her look better (especially since Anna calls her out for not knowing anything about love either).
A rival to make her look good- No.
Never fails- No. She failed at protecting her sister, keeping her ice powers a secret, and controlling her powers.
Never injured- She was kind of injured when the chandelier fell on her, but aside from that, no. .5
Always praised and rewarded without earning it- Sort of. Everyone in the kingdom seems to easily forgive her, and Anna always praises her and speaks well of her despite how much Elsa ignores her. 1.
Unrealistically skilled/powerful- Kind of. She did manage to freeze the entire kingdom. 1.
Always figures things out- No. She didn't figure out how to suppress her ice powers, that she had caused an eternal winter (for some reason), or how to stop the winter.
Kind but deadly- No. She isn't portrayed as 'the kind one', unlike Anna.
Tragic backstory- Definitely. Separated from her sister at an early age, forced to suppress her powers, isolated from everyone, lost her parents. She has one of the most tragic ones of any princess. 1.
Skilled in a wide variety of things- No. The only skill she has is her powers. (Though fun fact, in the original draft of Frozen, she's apparently super skilled and talented and loved by everyone in the kingdom, which makes Anna jealous)
Contradictory traits- Yes, but somewhat reasonably. She has to suppress her emotions and be 'the perfect girl', and has a lot of conflicting emotions. 1.
Always gets what she wants- Only at the end. She didn't get a relationship with her sister as a child, her freedom to live by herself in her ice castle, or her desire to protect her sister.
Rarely shows negative emotions- Definitely not. Actually, she rarely shows positive emotions (or any emotion at all).
A resurrection- Nope. (I'm not counting the sequels for these)

That's 5 out of 24. That's a definite no. Elsa isn't a Mary Sue either. She lacks distinct personality traits in general, which is a Mary Sue trait as well, but I wouldn't call her one. But remember, a character doesn't need to be a Mary Sue to be underdeveloped or poorly written.

I wanted to do this for a while, but I wanted to wait until Frozen came out before I did. Plus, I have school and tutoring so I really didn't have time. Anyways, here is my long-awaited favorite DP list.

13. Merida
Previous Position: 11
*Blows a deep breath* Merida. (Read in same tone as Nostalgia Chick uses when she said “Anime” in her top ten hottest animated guys countdown.) I want to like her, I really do. But I just... can't. I dislike Merida. I do admit that she did a great thing at the end: admit that she was bad and selfish and accept responsibility for it. But I honestly don't see...

I Love the movie, it was Amazing, Musical, Funny so well animated the graphics where so well detail, their expressions, like if you where watching real people, mind blowing.
When it comes to the story, i just didn't like the fact that their parents die, same thing with The Princess And The Frog when Tiana's father die.
I felt so sad for Anna and Elsa but mostly Anna, her parents had die and she didn't had no one to talk to in that moment, she had no clue why Elsa was keeping her distance from her. With her parents gone and her only family left rejecting her, she must had felt destroyed.
I Love...

I am sorry that I too a long hiatus, but I had A LOT to do in the end of August to now, and I am going to finish this series, so here I am again. I decided to start a series of analyzing the DP Couples in depth (and later, the other Disney Couples) after I got bored one day, and wanted to write a series of articles. You can recommend me which couple to do next in the couples section. So here is how it is going to go. I will first explain my overall statement about the couples in a paragraph, and then I will analyze each scene to look at the inner and outer feelings of the characters individually...

Amazing! I'm so grateful to be part of this amazing site with all of these amazing members! Thank you all sooo much!

2. Your favorite Princess and why?

Well, it's a 3 way tie. Rapunzel because I can relate to her in many ways. I love her character development, and how strong she is. Aurora because she's very different than the rest of the princesses. There's much more than meets the eye. In the...

I've been waiting to perform a step by step examination of this movie, the presentation of Belle by the narrative and the romance for quite awhile now. Hopefully, it clarifies my stance, highlights the points of Belle's characterization that in my opinion come off as engaging and thoughtfully constructed and the ones I take a major issue with. Not expecting for anyone to agree but hopefully people manage to read it until the end.

So, I have just completed my million + rewatch of Beauty and the Beast in order to write up and put together a short analysis of those aspects of Belle and Beast’s...
